So now they were gay Christian fundamentalist terrorists? This gets weirder by the minute.

I wonder if they plan to get health insurance policy?

AND pahb just edited his post to cut out the paragraph describing the group's plan to kill law-enforcement officers and then bomb their funerals--you know, the conspiracy crimes for which they were raided.

Has it occurred to you wackos out there just how easy your defense of such idiots makes life for terrorists?

That's fine with me, as long as they don't try to get married, damn it.

Christian militia members charged in Michigan

DETROIT (Reuters) – Nine members of a Christian militia group were indicted on charges of conspiring to wage war against the U.S. government, federal prosecutors said on Monday.

According to the grand jury indictment unsealed in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, the eight men and one woman were members of a group called the Hutaree that planned to kill a police officer in Michigan and then ambush the law enforcement officers who attended his funeral.

The indictment said the group believed the attacks would "serve as a catalyst for a more widespread uprising" against the government.

Eight people were arrested by the FBI over the weekend in raids in Michigan, Ohio and Illinois. One of the accused, Joshua Stone, 21, is still at large.

Evidently they had a good bit of information to go on before the raids.

You think what I posted is not on topic? Do you not think that the role of right-wing media has in some way contributed to the hate and fear that breeds these groups? Do you think me mentioning that the DHS tried to warn us exactly of these types of groups a few months ago is not relevent to this thread? I think discussing the causes and ramifications of this indictment are just as important as the details of the indictment itself...but hey, that's just me.

The arrests followed a federal grand jury indictment handed down in Detroit charging them with seditious conspiracy, attempted use of weapons of mass destruction, and possessing a firearm during a crime of violence.

The weapons of mass destruction charge referred to improvised explosive devices with projectiles, the indictment said.

Seven of the eight in custody were arraigned on Monday. On Wednesday, U.S. Magistrate Donald Scheer will consider the prosecutor's request that the defendants be held without bail. The status of the eighth person was not immediately clear.

The group's website, [which is now down], says the term Hutaree means "Christian warrior" and characterizes the group as "preparing for the end time battles to keep the testimony of Jesus Christ alive." It also features a Bible quotation from John 15:13: "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."

No. I edited before someone complained I did not trim my post- or allow for paragraphs.

It must be terrible to live in fear that those horrible militias might go wild.    Look at how we never mind our own business and have troops everywhere.

action men in fatigues are GOOD.    war is good.   JP Morgan is good.  Goldman sachs is good.

Humans tho - are very bad.

You just dont get it.

EVERYTHING you see in politics is enslave peons to serve the central banks= up to and including endless wars.

It is all about the banks.    Everything.

I know...I've been watching the story break on cable news all day. And I'm pissed that people seem surprised and indignant. Damnit if we aren't a nation of sheep.

I agree with you brainiacsub... right and left wing hate media are at the heart of extremism in America today.

Anyone who quotes or defends them is of a weak mind and easily influenced and controlled.

jlf1961 -> RE: MI militia raided by FBI (3/29/2010 5:10:44 PM)

Hunk, I hate to break this to you, but wars are economic disasters. Resources are used in areas that have no profit, diverted from consumer production which leads to inflation and loss of tax revenue. Look at the inflation rate during the Vietnam war for example.

pahunkboy -> RE: MI militia raided by FBI (3/29/2010 5:15:00 PM)

Jeff, the people are losers when there is a war.

The banks however loan the funds and add on interest- which must be repaid.

Anyone happen to catch Anderson Cooper on CNN tonight? His feature story was a discussion - nearly verbatim - of my original post.

Yet another reason I wish I could be part of the MSM.....

Well I dont say it that directly but yah I have done that too but I have this little packet of paperwork I give them (about an inch thick), proving they do not have jurisdiction.  (I assume that is what you meant by that?)

Now why would I piss on the floor and do damage to the judges property and give him a bonafide reason to have a claim against me?

Good thing I dont take your advice.

The courthouse is not the property of the judge,

That was a figure of speech to point out the destruction or damage to anothers property which gives the owner jurisdiction to obtain a remedy.

it is the property of the state, which you say has no jurisdiction over you.

Depends on the subject matter.  How many taimes do I need to repeat this before you get it through your head?

injury to another or property damage!
injury to another or property damage!
injury to another or property damage!
injury to another or property damage!
injury to another or property damage!

Therefore, by your argument you can do what you want and they have no right to detain or arrest you.

injury to another or property damage!
injury to another or property damage!
injury to another or property damage!
injury to another or property damage!
injury to another or property damage!

Actually, by your argument, you are completely with in your rights to commit any illegal activity you wish and the courts and law enforcement has no right to deal with you.

injury to another or property damage!
injury to another or property damage!
injury to another or property damage!
injury to another or property damage!
injury to another or property damage!

Like I said, why not try it and see how far your argument gets you.

like I said been there done that bought the tshirt,

it gets me dismissed
but then I did not do:

injury to another or property damage!
injury to another or property damage!
injury to another or property damage!
injury to another or property damage!
injury to another or property damage!

GET IT?

I get you are hedging your bets on your stand. By your argument, you are not responsible to any government or government agency. Which means, as I said, you could speed down the interstate at 100 mph and you would not have to pull over for a highway patrol vehicle.

You have stated that the government law enforcement agencies have no authority to detain you or arrest you. Your words, not mine.

Oh yeh ya gotta pull over alright, hell they got guns they will shoot your ass if you dont.  Sovereignty doesnt come with a bullet proof vest or shields captain kirk.

After they pull you over you kindly let them know you have no contract with them and hand them paperwork that shows them the laws they violated by arresting your travel but thats only when you go out of state.

All you need to do is get one cop fired in your home state and they get the message out.  Shake a finger at you, flash lights n shit like that if you are being naughty, but you see I am not an idiot like some of these assholes and speed 100 mph, for the most part I drive under the speed limit as a matter of habit, with my diplomat tags.  Love it.

I wonder how long and hard they looked for a group they could characterize as, first, breaking a law, and, second, being rightwing. But I wonder even more how long they cried tears of joy when they found a group that they could characterize as anti-Islam.
This is just too perfect, too cute by half.

pipe bomb as a wmd?

Hopefully we can all agree that any group inside the US attempting to acquire and use weapons of mass destruction needs to be shut down.

""State of Emergency"is a governmental declaration that may suspend certain normal functions of government, alert citizens to alter their normal behaviors, or order government agencies to implement emergency preparedness plans.

normal functions of government were suspended a long time ago.

try and get a true common law tribunal and see where that gets you.

They are charged with possessing WMDs, not with trying to obtain them. According to the indictment IEDs are now considered weapons of mass destruction. WTF? Why not just charge them with possessing bombs with the intent, and with bomb making materials with intent?

I am all for getting asshats like this off the streets and out of the population, but changing the definition of WMDs is a strange way of doing that. It makes me wonder what other definitions will be changed and for what purpose.

BINGO!

You got a hole in one man!

That is the fraud.  It is what they have done with literally the whole basis of law.  Everything today is a fucking blur and you will find the words in the law dictionaries are structured to SUPPORT the government.

What the hell its their law!  You are a resident not a living sentient being in your Hidel, you wont find Hidel in any law dictionary and if its not in a law dictionary you cant use it for your defense or offense for that matter against the corporation.

You may not realize how you did the bullseye on that one!
