a Natural History programme a while back.  little baby penguins were trying to get out to sea through the melt-ice to feed, some made it, some got eaten by leopard seals - (laughing at self, not penguins) - slightly over the top, but that is how it feels for some people trying to get through the maze of varying people, types, agendas and personal priorities.  its a jungle out there for clueless newbies.

Oowrr! Oowrr! Oowrr!

*leopard seal talk for "come here little girl, I want to eat you"*

you are sick sick sick - [:)]

another caption could be:   '..... a two headed penguin - how kinky can i make this....'

This thread discusses some scientific analysis of online dating, and CollarMe's relation to other sites.  Bottom line: more women use online dating than men do.

Ok, I'm laughing...and trying to be patient, so many of you have been wonderful with your advice and comments and some have even stood up for me when they felt a reply was unduly harsh towards me. Because I admited to having one bad experience in BDSM years ago, you all want to paint me as a victim. So please allow me to clarify a few things for you.

1. I have never dated an asshole or an abuser in my life. To this day I am friends with all of the men I have dated and have even gone so far as to hook them up with other women...I hate to see a good man go to waste.

2. I am that bitch who gets in the face of the undesirable guy who lingers inappropiatly around my girlfriends on a night out.

3. Career wise, I have been everything from a hairstylist to a vet assistant on a horse breeding ranch. I worked corporate for years in accounting and marketing and wound up owning and running a live music bar in San Francisco for 9 years... Our logo was "Where the beautiful people go to get ugly" I was the bitch who kept their asses in line or threw them out, without a bouncer.

4. Before landing in Ibiza I spent 3 years backpacking around the world on my own and even lived with a tribe in the jungles of Papau New Guinea.

5. While being new to the BDSM culture and lifestyle, I am not new to sex or kinky sex and have always loved the sensual side of my nature.

6. I'm 50 years old and did more living in the first 30 years of my life then many do in a lifetime...and I really kicked it up a notch when I turned thirty.

7. I am enjoying this feeling of being a bit naive regarding BDSM... Do you know how long it's been since I felt naive about anything??

So please don't try to make me something that I'm not. I'm a smart, strong capable woman... Tell your friends to read this post becsuse if I get any more replies making me out to be a victim I'll be forced to make a post addressing this... and you know the last thing you want is another of my posts.[;)]

Level...this isn't directed at you,it was just the straw...can I still come to the island?

Level -> RE: Misogynistic men who think they are dominants (4/3/2010 3:42:01 PM)

Of course you can, jb [;)]

I'm just going to reinterate my thoughts; some are indeed victims, and some folks make themselves such. Neither of these relieves the victimizer of being responsible for their part in the whole mess. Life is tough at times, bad things happen, and it often isn't black and white in terms of who pooped in the stew.

Edited to add: I don't see everyone that has had a bad experience as a victim.

Thanks, I don't rant very often...but every once in a while...[:)]

Then please continue to use the excellent people-choosing skills you already have, and you will be fine.  Incidentally, I don't believe your "bad BDSM story," as you described it, portrayed you as abysmally stupid.  Perhaps there was more to the event, but you got references, you checked the guy out, and you got burned.

There are many people who believe BDSM is somehow a separate category from "relationships."  It's not.  I bet if you had chosen your first dom in the exact same way as you chose your first boyfriend, you would be less annoyed at yourself about your first BDSM experience.

Please understand that the context of these posts is a thread that began with ranting, and the OP of the thread was disavowing personal responsibility for bad relationship choices.  I think you are taking some of what is said too personally.  Take whatever is of value to you, personally, and discard the rest.  Just like your mail inbox![;)]

When the feeling to rant comes on, just picture my forearms... [:D]

We all need to cut loose now and then.

Looks like those creeps deactivated your profile, too! Fuckers..... and they eliminated you in just about six days or less.

jbcurious -> RE: Misogynistic men who think they are dominants (4/3/2010 5:53:46 PM)

Thanks RM... My first bf was in kindergarden...I chose him because he looked like Timmy from the Lassie show...[:D]

Level, you're a cruel man to tease me with those veiny forearms...

Firebirdseeking -> RE: Misogynistic men who think they are dominants (4/4/2010 4:24:09 PM)

OP, I am sympathetic with your perception but I see that you joined on 3/29/10, so exactly HOW many misogynistic "Doms" could you have met since you first posted??

What about the self important White Knights who think they can score brownie points by making everyone else an "abuser"?

Please pardon the rant, but I’ve run into an inordinate number of men on this site that claim to be dominant yet under closure examination, turn out to be misogynistic tops at best and more than likely the kind of man that strikes in anger.

Has anyone else had this experience? This type of behavior has always concerned me. These are the guys that ruin new comers to the Lifestyle and give the good dominants a bad name. I see them as the male equivalent of the tribute happy dommes this site is littered with.

I just now finished a reply to one of these "Knights" I think he'll take the time to read a profile before he offers his unsolicited advice again... hehe

I think the approach is even worse as it's playing on an assumed vulnerability.
