Hmmmm. Well, I have to honestly say that it wasn't until I was about 28 and more fully understood and was able to embrace the mental change that occurs as a submissive. I don't think I was a) mature enough prior to that time, b) had a real grasp on my feelings and ability to "relax" and allow things to happen naturally.

Ok, this is going to sound a little crazy. [:D] I was 40 and experieced what I have read and researched to be subspace while getting a tattoo on the middle of my lower back. It was quite an experience. lol And that was the first and only time. [:)]

i was about 29 . during my second meeting w/ a Dom i met online we "played" a bit more then the first and i felt it when he smacked me across the face so hard i came over and over .

23... I think I'd been there once or twice before, but I 'went there' on monday night for definate..

From my blog.. - 'I remember the activities that got me there... I remember her pulling my hair (which apparently got a strong reaction... Was part of a head massage)... That short paragraph took the best part of an hour to write, and even with that I don't know how good it is. How DO you put something so unique, so indescribable into words?

i've never experienced sub-space and to be honest it scares me a bit...some of the descriptions i've read about it sound more like a bad acid trip than a pleasurable experience....i'd love to know exactly what the person feels, both physically and mentally during that moment...and how long does it last?

[&o]Hi . This is a touchy part for me to disgust because I feel like it should be shared between the two but I will tell anyway..I am 48 years old and I have NOT been to subspace. My reasoning is because it is a special place two share together. I have not because I have not trusted anyone with my life yet.. When I find that special One it will be just that special.. That is a sacred gift to be shared and given by a sub/slave and no other gift is as important. Its like the first time You ever made love that special..This is my opinion only. i was 27. I just started in the lifestyle in september of last year, so i am very new, but last month, i experienced what you call "sub-space"..it is the most breath-taking experience, and i love it when i get there, i cant wait to go back when i am not there.

i was 25..it happened about 2 months ago and it is so amazing. i still haven't figured out what's better though...sub space or the after-care and coming down frome it, or everything combined.

I have only been in sub-space once, and I was 36. The pain simply disappeared and my whole body relaxed. Seeing this, my top checked on me and stopped the scene despite my weak protests. In her words "wow, you are really flying!"

This post may fall under a new topic, but here it is nonetheless....

sub-space is not something we subs reach with each session. In fact, Master has only taken me there a handful of times. It's not the intensity or length alone of the scene that allows us to reach "it".

and as my previous post mentions, i've been there, and find it intoxicating! but i don't know what the recipe is.

anybody have a clue?

Subspace is like orgasms, it's different for everyone and we each take different ways to get there.

I very rarely go into subspace as it requires that I am allowed to be not only completely passive, but quiet and totally safe to let go that deep. It's a very rare scene that this mix occurs.

I actually had been going into subspace before I knew the terminology...Learned of the terminology at the age of 35....

I am one of the ones that slip into subspace quite easily. I am very curious about the ones that say they have never reached subspace, what keeps you grounded?

Well I somewhat already listed this, but for me it's because I'm NOT a masochist, I don't get high on pain. But I tend to be owned by heavy sadists. So they like hurting me, but I don't fly from being hurt. This eliminates a majority of the possible times I could go into that state.

Thank you this gives me better insight about being grounded, but what about the ones that have never experienced it?
