I agree. He's a pretty decent quarterback, but who in their right mind would want him on the Supreme Court?

Funny how the ideological leanings of the source didn't become an issue until a conservative source came into play, Brainia. We now at least have differing perspectives on the thread to look at. This is one of those occasions where every item is going to have some slant, and the best option is to look at as many different ones as possible. Yet you seem opposed to that notion.

You might want to make sure those hideous fake things aren't leaking into your bloodstream.

That's unfair, Rich. I routinely consider all positions and arguments and judge them on their merits. I hold both conservative and liberal views. I spent all morning watching the nomination debates and both CNN and Fox to try and understand the issues and arguments from both the left and right. I do tend to favor the opinions of respected intellectuals, like Jeffrey Toobin - who just happens to contribute to the Huffington Post - because I prefer the opinions of people who are knowledgeable about a subject as opposed to people who are just ideologues.

edited to add that your statement about me being opposed to looking at many different sources just makes you a prick, since I was the one who stated it was the alternative to seeking out partisan sources

It's completely fair, Brainia. I may in fact, have been too gentle. The HuffPost piece keeps hammering on a talking point (not an ideologue) and raises that big red flag of liberals talking about what appeals to conservatives, while the Weekly Standard goes back to her own senior thesis for a foundation, yet only one of these gets dismissed as partisan in your reply.

Frankly, what HuffPost thinks will appeal to conservatives bothers me more than what she was writing in college, 30 years ago.

I never said anything about whether I agreed or disagreed with the Huff Post. I only replied to you that the Standard is indeed very conservative and not a credible rebuttal to the Huff Post. In my second post I questioned why you wouldn't consider multiple sources, so your opinion of me if baffling.

If you are coming from a position that the HuffPost is some sort of reliable, mainstream, middle of the road source, Brainia, I might just be giving up on you entirely.

You certainly seemed to be implying it by stating that a distictly conservative site was no rebuttal to it (especially when I tossed out the Weekly Standard as an alternate view, not a direct counter).

I read HuffPost regularly, and appreciate the perspective they offer, but I find them far more wacky partisan than the WS. For crying out loud, it's the house organ of the Hollywood left!

Wasn't that the problem to begin with? Can a pretty face ever be more than that among so much testosterone in these forums? I am actually having fun with these titties, but they'll be gone by Monday. I promise.

So now I implied rather than stated? Is that what you are saying?

You see, Rich, this exchange has been a perfect example of why so many conservatives get in to bitch fights with the non-conservative posters. Any time any one of us disagrees with any of your opinions or heros, you guys immediately make assumptions concerning our motives and/or beliefs. Just because I stated that the Weekly Standard is very partisan - which is a well known fact among us political junkies - you automatically jumped to the conclusion that I was therefore defending the integrity of the Huffington Post. Not being a partisan conservative does not necessarily mean that we must therefore be a partisan liberal. Some of us will find fault on both sides.

btw - you've never asked me what I thought of the Huff Post, and I haven't offered it, you just made alot of assumptions based on your own partisan bias

But Mike, I've been able to make big dumb blonde titty jokes in every thread I post. It's kinda neat.

You missed the point, Rich. Why would you let any one partisan source frame your opinion about her? The truth lies somewhere in the consensus. It's not that hard to find if you really want to.

Here is your assumption, Brainia. That I was taking this piece as some sort of gospel, when I clearly said it was a different view. Incidentally, it was a different view based on her own writings.
