Wasn't that the problem to begin with? Can a pretty face ever be more than that among so much testosterone in these forums? I am actually having fun with these titties, but they'll be gone by Monday. I promise.

Damn, don't do that.

Mike just drinks too much Jack.

I love the picture.

Can somebody clarify this for the confused European?

Is there a Yale = GOP and Harvard = t'other lot thing in American politics, or is this purely an evil Obama thing that would have the sectarians taking a pop at Charles Atlas if Obama's only qualification was from his bodybuilding school?

This debate is about intellectualism vs populism. The regular folks don't know enough to realize that knowing stuff is important.

So one group thinks that The Sound Of Music is the best film ever, and the other knows that it's really The Seventh Seal.
Gotcha.

I know there's a similar rivalry between the two, but I was wondering if there was a correlation with the parties in the 'States that we don't have here. Both Bushes were Yale men after all, and I think Gore went to Harvard as well as Obama. (Presumably he's still technically a Democrat...)

No, that became a moot point when we started calling our very liberal Harvard hasty pudding club a very conservative Yale (regardless of the meanderings of Mr. Buckley) skull and bones society.

So I was on the money with my comment about Charles Atlas, then.

Exactly...but let me add that there is also an element of intellectualism vs elitism, especially when it comes to Bush. He went to Yale, but he's hardly an intellectual. Many believe his acceptance to Yale was due to family connections, which is elitism.

The newest debate surrounding the next SCOTUS pick is about populists insisting that Obama select someone who is not a graduate of Harvard or Yale. This is anti-intellectualism disguised as anti-elitism. Got it?

I hear you. Inverted snobbery is still snobbery, however you dress it up, true enough.

Mind you, it isn't hard to see why the Republicans are down on intellectuals at the moment. Futuryama didn't do them a lot of favours, did he?

Ron: you mean that talking to Americans on the internet will give me scurvy?
