The human body can only take so much of this.

The human body can only take so much of something that doesn't have enough energy to interact with it passing through it?

This is basic physics, fella.

Todays tech effects are UNKNOWN.

I wish I had a lead shield around my bed.

Luckily- we don't have endless cell towers in my area.

No I would not get chipped. I want to retain some level of assumed privacy and that concept leaves me too uncomfortable with being microchipped and the potential for abuse is too high for my sense of comfort.

I concur.  This would be the primary reason I would avoid being chipped.

Will there be a rash of crimes in which a goblin gets/builds a transponder and downloads your information as identity theft or blackmail?  But also brings the point, how many folks will be digging them out after (consentual or otherwise) implantation because of said fears.

So my vote is not only no, but h#ll no.

Ohhhhh, I get it!  You carry around paper cups and string!

And I don't even have a cell phone!

People would call...

Hunk, pacemakers and a wide variety of stimulators emit many pulses directly into nerves, or near nerves.  If they caused great harm, we'd have heard about it already.

Ok- the way I understand it... a chip can emit electrical impulses with in your body.  Ones nerves ARE an electrical current. So a chip is additional electrical work into YOUR body.  For this reason the effects could be chilling.

Barometer effects us- electrical fields can effect us.   Even certain sound pitches can trigger pain.

You're going to need at least 2 receivers to resolve both bearing and range, especially in the presence of multipath, trees, etc.

It is good sometimes to know what you speak of before you speak.

For the casual reader, remember it is dangerous to gain your knowledge from forums like this, as falsehoods are commonly espoused as "knowledge".

VaguelyCurious was eventually correct, RFID chips are not internally powered, they are powered by the RF they receive.

Most cellphone locators do not use triangulation, but instead use Polar coordinates (direction and distance) from a single tower.
