Hello Icarys,
I agree with that. Traditions and rituals are absolutely manifestations in the outside world what is inside. I just tend to be fairly private, and I would think that a man I would be with would probably be fairly private as well.

However, there is a difference between being kind of quirky and being over the top. I'm not sure what that line is, and I expect it is somewhat fluid, but I know that right now I don't want that clunky chunky stuff on my neck. I've always thought it was interesting that some of the most popular necklaces at Tiffany's... are kinkish.

Best,
sunshine

Speaking of links: If anyone has the link to the silversmith that makes collars with precious stones..Mind passing that?

I can never remember his website name!

i have one of those - necklace and bracelet with tag and padlock. i was lucky enough to have an ex Master who appreciated Tiffany's, hee hee! Only issue with them as a collar is the sterling silver tarnishes quite quickly, and requires quite a bit of maintenance for an "everyday" collar.

i also love the love bracelets at Cartier - i think they would make a wonderful substitute collar worn around the wrist (have to be removed with a screwdriver). [;)]

You used this irrelevant and perfectly innocuous difference of opinion as an excuse to yet again be rude and uncouth because you get off on it, due to your personal insecurities: sort them out. I resorted to insults after you insulted me. Fuck off, Merc : you're a verbose and insecure windbag. Your one-twue wayism is getting beyond tedious.

In summary - the kitty barks! "woof woof" !

You may not wear a dog collar - but I just LOVE the way I can make you bark!

That it was a part of my being quirky way and that it was jewelry made especially for me. I would have problaby then diverted their attention elsewhere.

I also have grown something of a back bone since then and wouldn't do it again. If Signore Wonderful had asked me to, I wouldn't have.

I think that there is a way to be discreet and still share. I remember a gal who said something about showing her collar and she put her hand out, and it was a diamond ring. While I"m not crazy about bling, that's closer to my speed. A simple silver necklace would be more along the lines of what I'd wear now.

But then I'm vanilla don'tcha know. [:)]

Am I reading this right, Sunny? If you found another owner who gave you the same type of collar you wouldn't wear it in public?
Correct me if I'm wrong but that was a Gorean relationship & Gor's are more stringent in the "backbone's" their girls/boys have and that would not be allowed so are you also saying you wouldn't be in another Gor relationship?

**Sorry, I know that's a bit of a derailment but inquiring minds and all that rubbish**[:D]

You're very juvenile, for a man of such advanced years - perhaps you're regressing, in your dotage.

I believe the word "owner" may have left the vocabulary, darling.

It wouldn't be appropriate for me to answer for the Goreans.

I'm sure there are much more interest things to discuss...

And Icarys, my pleasure.

Moved on to attempting age insults now. A very progressive mentality exhibited again! "Woof woof!"

Always seeking a reason when someone doesn't see it in your 'one true way' is much more reflective of a juvenile perspective little Kitty.

Poor merc...said that goldman wouldn't be prosecuted because Obama was "complicit" in the mortgage scandal.

How does an uneducated man bget the gig of "Working first hand at a high level in the banking industry."

I guess it all depends on what one views as a "high level."

kittinSol -> RE: How do you feel about wearing your collar in public? (4/16/2010 10:12:54 AM)

Since you resorted to insulting me first simply because I hold a different point of view from yours, I think you have established yourself that the one-twue way is all yours.

I shall remind you, since it's obvious that old age is impairing your memory.

This is what I wrote:

quote:

That's precisely why I couldn't be a "slave" under any circumstances. My sense of fashion is an unbreachable hard-limit

A self-descriptive, innocuous, personal comment about myself where I admit that slavery is an impossibility for me.

This is how you replied to this self-referential comment:

quote:

One more good reason - it helps to expose the accepting hypocrites; the majority too stupid and unable to help but make ignorant comments.

Insulting, and off-point, because you will find that accepting one's limits makes one anything but a hypocrite. Blinded by your personal animosity, you knee-jerked, and resorted to an insult.

Later on in this thread, you had the audacity to deplore the fact that people don't address points and choose to insult others instead rofl!

quote:

If they could discuss on the facts, or had an open acceptance of other peoples lifestyle choice perhaps they'd respond differently; however I for one appreciate they have disclosed their true nature - accepting as long as it's their "one true way". .

The hypocrisy and belligerence is all yours, little man. And you have established again that you find it very hard to accept that not everybody makes the same choices as you. Yep... the one twue-way is all yours [:)] .

Wolf2Bear -> RE: How do you feel about wearing your collar in public? (4/16/2010 10:19:04 AM)

Yet the OP made NO mention if one is a submissive nor a slave. so any further mention of a slave or a sub wearing a collar is pure conjecture on the poster's part.

DesFIP -> RE: How do you feel about wearing your collar in public? (4/16/2010 10:19:50 AM)

For those of you who do not want to wear the collar in public & will refuse any dom/domme that wants you to, you'll only wear it during playtime...does this mean you're ashamed of your status in the relationship & will only submit behind closed doors?

I must admit to being surprised by I believe it was DesFip's response regarding causing the breakup of a relationship bet. her son & his girlfriend (hope I got that right) just because you wore a collar. The girlfriend is "stuffy", ok I get that but where do you draw the line at caring what people think? If she'd breakup w/your son because of what you wore is she really someone you want in your life since you'll always be worrying about what she's thinking?

I'm also in agreement w/several others w/the response how does wearing your collar in public "force your kink" on others? There's no whip in your owner's hand, you aren't on your knees kissing their feet or sucking their genitals, you're merely wearing an "offbeat" piece of jewelry that would cause eyebrows to raise, right? No different than 250lb people shoving themselves into Daisy-duke shorts because it's 90 degrees outside. Now THAT"S something I don't want to see but do I ask them WHY they're displaying themselves in public like that & to change their clothes before they blind my grandums? Nope, I'll just bypass them.

The stepson has the stuffy gf. She is sufficiently uncomfortable enough with The Man and I living together, not remarried, that she has trouble spending time with us.
The stepson is a jewel of a person. But they're probably going to be wed in a couple of years and I don't propose to do anything that would put a wedge between him and his father. Nor does The Man want that kind of an outcome.

If I thought she would breakup with him, that wouldn't bother us. I don't think so. I think she'll separate him from his family. And that isn't something we want. Nor something you considered.

And since some of us aren't as thin and fit as you, VP, I won't wear daisy dukes in public and he won't wear a speedo.

I just want to focus on this one bit cause the irony is so freaking funny it deserves it.

I take special offense with the term little man! As if being short is somehow an insult!
