Yeah, I have her locked in my dungeon.

She's enjoying the free Wifi that comes with her daily floggings.

Yea, I wondered about that one. I guess if that is true, based on the way she talks about sanity, they should be announcing the date any time now.

Christ will do what is best for Christ...he is an opportunist plain and simple!

No, he has been a very centrist, popular governor with support from both sides.

Which is why the teabaggers are pushing Rubio. Crist is not conservative enough for them.

I never said he left the party. I only said he made the announcement that he would. I have not presented anything that is unfactual.

No, he hasn't made the announcement, all he has done is allude to the possibility, but for now he is committed to running as a Republican.

No, he hasn't made the announcement, all he has said is he is keeping the possibility open but for now is committed to running as a Republican.

I clarified this in a later post. You should have quoted that one.

I never insulted Thomas. I merely spoke the truth.

I know, that was some pretty furious backpedaling. You must be tired.

And even I overstated it, he never even said he was open to the possibility.

The speculation has been because he didn't say that he would not run as an Independent, when asked directly.

It's not about backpedaling. It's just that I follow the news - both TV and print - very closely. So I get alot of information, including analysis, from a variety of sources, and sometimes it's easier to just summarize it all in a few short sentences when I post here. With regard to Crist, this speculation about possibly switching parties didn't come from nowhere. A few people on here only know and are only concerned with what he said directly in a recent press conference. That is fair. I, on the othe hand, as a die hard political junkie, am much more interested in what the insiders are saying behind the scenes. To me, the story is not what he said, but why everyone is even talking about this. If you go back and read my original post on Crist and put it in context with the theme of this thread, it is painfully clear my intent in bringing it up.

No, Mike...I couldn't confuse you less if I spelled it out and tatooed it on your forehead.

But seriously...this little exchange is a big example of what is wrong with these partisan Republicans. They will endlessly obssess and argue over little things that don't really matter - is it Tea Party or Teabagger, did he bow or didn't he, who really wrote the misspelled signs, did Crist say it or imply it, and on and on. If you are focusing on this shit you are missing the bigger point.

I am not in any way suggesting the people in this thread are partisan Repubs. It's just that I started having flashbacks of some of the more ridiculous threads recently.

Seems to me we are entering the old....if it walks like a duck territory.
I'll see if I can get a link....I really suck at this shit....lol
Okay ,perhaps I don't suck so much as I am lazy...but here is the link     http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/17/opinion/17blow.html?ref=opinion

I don't want to derail this thread by turning it in to another Tea Party shit kicking fest. There are alot of parallels between Scott Brown and Charlie Crist and the implications are far worse for the Republicans than for the Democrats. The Tea Partiers better wake up and take notice.

You can wish the Tea Party Movement is what you want it to be all you want, it will not make it so.

Oh... and Scott Brown was elected by the Tea Party Movement. He knows that's as do the people and voters in the MA Tea Party Movement who fought so hard to elect him and will fight just has hard to re-elect him.

Scott Brown is who he says he is.

The Tea Party Movement and its supporters is who they say they are.

Pretend all you want that they are something else.

The teabaggers didn't elect Scott Brown. He was elected because he was a moderate who appealed across party lines and he ran against a weak candidate.

The Tea Party is made up of Democrats, Republicans and Libertarians, they are a coss party movement and that movement was the one that pushed Brown over the top.

But contiune your disbelief and your wishful thinking

"the Tea Party consists primarily of voters who are already Republicans and more apt to embrace conservative ideals than typical Americans.

"Active supporters of the Tea Party, those who have attended a rally or donated money, are much more likely to be wealthy, male, have graduated from college and reside in rural areas that are already GOP and conservative strongholds. These numbers cast doubt on the potential for future growth of a movement that is adept at attracting voters with similar ideological viewpoints and background, but is clearly struggling to gain mainstream traction."

Bullshit.

It's a Republican movement funded by Republican interests.

There are undoubtedly some Democrats and others who support it, but show me one Democratic candidate the teabaggers have endorsed.

Members of the Tea Party may have voted for him, but he could not have gotten elected with Tea Party votes alone. It was the Independents and moderate Democrats who supported him as a block that secured his election. It shows that he has broad appeal across a large spectrum of voters. That is why he doesn't want to be affiliated with the Tea Party and keeps snubbing Sara Palin. He understands that his political future does not live and die at the whims of the Tea Party.
