That may be--but as I said before, it presupposes a rather weak-minded viewing public, and it's still in front of us, not subliminal. I'm quite capable of deciding "I don't need that." So are others. And when they purchase anyway, it speaks to a person's desire to have it all, not to the magic of brainwashing. Hell, even outright propaganda has never worked that well. But people are blending "subliminal" with "theme," and were that the case, all literature would be seditious. It's not hidden. We're meant to see it and understand it. And then, sure, purchase it if needed or wanted.
