There is more data and knowledge contained in a little thimble of reality than we can process.

Yes, everything is subliminal. One has to look.

Naming is the particular origin of all things.

Right.. not subliminal and not brainwashing ... but marketing strategy, ya think?

And there's nothing pernicious nor improper about marketing strategy.

As I said initially--there's nothing new here.

Marketing is simply letting the world know you exist.

I worked for a studio in which the sales pitch involved getting people to say Yes many times in a row. Then you switch over to something like the possible sale and guess what?

They say yes.

They impulsively break out the type of tender and gave us the money.
It is manipulative.... this Neuro Linguistic Programming.

If not, you rebuttal.

"This is the last of my money"
"Ma'am, it will create a lasting memory that will endure"

If the rebuttal does not work...
My partner at the rig lied out of his ass and got 25 sales (the lowest was 14) and the company gave him a bonus for 'being an awesome salesperson'.

It was just taking money, upsell upsell upsell,
Have them buy portraits that will fade in a few years.

There are good messages, and then there are corrupt messages. Vacant filler.

Marketing, Logistics, Sales, Supplier.

NLP exists for one primary reason---

To sell NLP books, CDs, and seminars to people believing they can so easily learn to control others.

I'm not sure which of the last two confused me more, the droids and the slightly waving hand.....or the gay man telling Tim and I to get a room.....I think I'm getting a headache.

When I was in finance, I had a 100% closing ratio.

No manipulation, no gimics, no secret techniques--I just asked them about their circumstances and goals, then helped meet them.

When I ran first independent bookstores and then record wholesalers, same thing--what are people/retailers looking for, match it up with what we can for them, add helpful suggestions they may have overlooked. We more than doubled sales.

It's not science fiction. It's just good service.
