Interesting post I've lived in NJ most of my life, although I spent some time in Northern NY (Syracuse) and in the Pasadena area. I know many love southern california, I couldn't wait to get out. I grew up in central NJ (when it was mostly farmland) and now live in Northerwestern NJ. I love being close to NYC, yet far enough to buy fresh produce from farms. I love being able to hear any kind of live music I want (from salsa, to jazz, to classical, to hard rock, to punk..etc), often without going into NYC. I love the abundance of incredible ethnic food, the diversity of the people and landscape in such a relatively small area. I know what often binds people to their home area are the roots that are grown by family, but in thruth I think I'd live even if my family were not here. Besides if you arent from New Jersey, you don't get to scream "Hey I know where that is" . everytime the Soprano's are on. Al
