One day I seriously need to write that up... with lots of technical jargon and pseudo-science thrown in for supporting arguments.

perhaps it is because they are speaking from their own perspective. there is more than one definition for the word slave.

"true" has nothing to do with being historically accurate with regard to how the Romans or pre-civil war Americans or Vikings considered things...it has to do with being aligned to reality...as in not "false".

"slave" doesn't just mean LEGALLY owned property...it can also mean "One who is abjectly subservient to a specified person or influence"

so, since it would be a "false" statement to say that your reality includes being "abjectly subservient to THEM or THEIR INFLUENCE"...then, in their perspective, you are not a "true slave" to them.

So what? Someone else will certainly consider you true and slave from their perspective...won't they?

OP, all kidding aside, I struggled with this stuff also at one point. It was KnightofMysts who cleared it up for me. I am ME. All these labels are just that, labels. None of them are going to accurately capture the totality of me or my relationship with Carol. Is it more correct to Carol my slave or my submissive wife? They are both right -- neither is complete.

You are what you are. How someone else perceives you is up to them but it doesn't change YOU.

Just ignore them and find someone who is real.  They (we) are out there...

These guys are probably all predators. A real Dom (read "experienced") will be concerned with your goals and timing. The poseurs want a slave on board NOW and don't care about your goals - they're not into real live relationships.

A real Dom will ask about your objectives, goals, and fantasies and will want detailed knowledge. He will have questions every time you talk.

Be patient, don't fall for a fake.
