ORIGINAL: xbrand factually, it is not really a certificate of birth, that is held at the city and state in which you were born, municipal mircofilm archives, what most people have is a paper issued by some church, hospital, or other, and has the recorded number of your certificate; which has been accepted as proof of birth by every state, federal, city enity in these United States. Thus born in New York City, you are a citizen of the United States, and so on. A rose by any other name... No certificate, whatsoever ?....prove you are a citizen then. Prove you are here legally. A No brainer dude. As you point out later in this post all you have to do to get a copy of a birth certificate is order it and pay for it...what keeps anyone from ordering up some paper? A no brainer dude. If you Do Not have that paper, however, can present other ID, (SS #, Driver's license, Police Metro ID, Green Card, etc.), All of which use a birth certificate for validation. A no brainer dude. if the questioning officer and Court STILL wants the birth Certificate...you are allowed a certain period of time to produce said document, by writing to the state capital in which you claim you were born, send along the search fees, with your request, in about 10 days you will receive a certified embossed COPY of your birth REGISTRATION. Or you can do it online. What is your problem? No problem...anyone can get anyone elses birth certificate and there is no way you can use that birth certificate to validate that you are the person named on it. A no brainer dude The point being objected to with this new law, is the profiling, racial way the investigations can be carried out. The police can stop, detain ANYONE, without regard to ANY probable cause. Before the law, a Mexican or any 'color' person can cry "I was stopped because I am Mexican." (or whatever)...not now. The police are seeking ANYONE who is here illegally, no matter what color of race they are....and that gives the police vast extended powers. Are you comfortable with the police having those vastly extended powers? A no brainer dude Driver's license, Greed card
