ORIGINAL: Whiplashsmile4 There's certain STD's that were/are the direct result of humans having sex with animals. hmmm, i have taken a few immunology classes, and while human stds can be spread due to multiple human partners with the same animal in a short period of time, i am unaware of an std that was originally contracted due to bestiality. i'd be a lot more concerned with fido's fleas and ticks than something like the clap. Actually, there are quite a few non-STD's that are contracted from animals, such as Malaria from mosquitos and Ebola from bats and one STD in particular. The closest original contact with AIDS theory is from sexual contact with a Rhesus Monkey. However, to those monkeys the disease is little more than an irritant, not the life threatening one it is to humans. More on topic, I'd say it depends on the animal and the act being performed. Dogs for example can be easily trained to fetch balls... or lick them. Or other sexual activities. In addition, there have also been documented attempts from both primates and dolphins attempting to have sex with very non-consenting humans. So, a blanket statement saying that animals can't consent isn't accurate. Also, in the cases of Chimps and Orangs anyway, they've been documented to be sentient, so I suppose they could be construed to give consent. Dolphins are just one of the only species that will attempt to fuck a LOT of moving things... divers included. But they're also the only species similar to humans in that they'll fuck in order to have pleasure with no intention of reproduction.
