ORIGINAL: Jeffff If we loved each other like our dogs love us, the world would be a better place. You don't really think that, right? That the best love is blind and pointless? Blind? Pointless? Not at all. If you think dogs are unable to discriminate between who they should and shouldn't love, then try ordering someone else's dog about. As far as pointless, a dog's love will teach you how you can love better. By being unconditional. By being there for you when you need to cry. By not shaming you for being weak. By helping you reach out and connect when you have huge difficulties doing so with people. Which is why many therapists who work with children have a dog there, because the children can connect with the dog, accept the dog's affection and lean on the dog's love for strength they don't have. Therapy animals can help children who can't be reached by human therapists. The animal leads the way because the animal will not put itself into danger, unlike people. And thus the animal is safe to follow, follow back into connecting with people.
