That "latest" scientific conclusion was being taught when I was in school fifty years ago.
I had occasion to meet Dr.Leaky when he came to visit the "early man site" in Barstow in 1968.
It was this site that confirmed that humans in the western hemisphere dates from at least 35,000 years ago and more likely double that.
