Ah now it makes sense, couldn't figure why she was posting about realestate.  Yeah it needs way too much work especially at that price.

LadyEllen -> RE: A bit of Justice finally (5/4/2010 3:50:29 PM)

Kevin dear - why on Earth would I employ three people at one third salary to produce one third the benefit each, when I can employ one at the same cost and get the same benefit? It gives me more personnel regulations to look to, I require two more workstations and a larger office and I have to be sure that all three, rather than just one, will fit into the team.

Charity and all that is great - I fully support social welfare programmes too - but someone, somewhere and some time has to generate the money that pays for it. I have lots of friends who could do with a job in my group of companies, and following your sort of reasoning I ought to give them all jobs even though they lack all the necessary knowledge and skills - lets assume I did - the group would go bankrupt in months and we'd all be out of a job.

It wouldn't be so bad except for a new roof on that fucker would be pricey as hell with a ranch style and 3K ft+ to cover.

Other than that it's appliances and $6k a year to maintain a pool.

Having a yard in Fl is nice though. *le sigh*

zephyroftheNorth -> RE: A bit of Justice finally (5/4/2010 3:53:26 PM)

But Lady E noone would be overpaid! [:D]

BoiJen -> RE: A bit of Justice finally (5/4/2010 3:54:29 PM)

...and that's the important part!

LadyEllen -> RE: A bit of Justice finally (5/4/2010 3:59:05 PM)

That Zephyr is the point though isnt it? No one - absolutely no one, is overpaid. They are paid what they are worth.

What Kevin has a problem with is simple ignorance of the basics of employment from the point of view of an employer, and arising from that a bigoted view of those whose worth is such that they receive substantial pay packages.

What Kevin also fails to realise is that these "overpaid executives" are generating huge sums of tax revenue that goes to support the welfare benefits he's currently on and are maintaining the commerce and attempting to develop it that will one day, inshallah, provide him with employment.

What Kevin also further fails to realise is that by falling into the depressive trap of his position and his low self esteem, he is just about making himself unemployable by virtue of utterly failing any interview.

What do you feel it is worth...I am a long way from Fla. so I am not aware of prices there.
What sort of roof is on it now...comp shingles or gravel?

No clue, I've never been to Florida, the price just seems a bit steep considering it needs so much work.

Gravel roof?

BoiJen -> RE: A bit of Justice finally (5/4/2010 4:06:06 PM)

Shingles but they're f'ed down to the ply wood. It needs to be complete replaced. The quote from one guys as $15K for the hurricane resistant roofing.

And for 3K sq ft+ and a yard, in Fl it's a steal... I just don't want to have to deal with such major repairs.

LadyEllen -> RE: A bit of Justice finally (5/4/2010 4:07:32 PM)

$15k to supply and fit hurricane resistant roofing? Sounds like a certain contractor is grossly overpaid!

No arguement from me, Lady E, I was just joking [:)]

BoiJen -> RE: A bit of Justice finally (5/4/2010 4:09:22 PM)

It's the size of the roof that makes it so steep. If it were a 3K sq ft two story town house or condo it would be far less...but it's a f'in ranch so the roof is massive compared to most everything else down here. And it's not just shingles being taken care of...it's everything except for frame and even parts of that need to be replaced/repaired.

Trust me...I wanted this one to work so bad it hurt.

boi

LadyEllen -> RE: A bit of Justice finally (5/4/2010 4:10:37 PM)

The roof cant be that steep if the building is so large.

Ken Lay, Bernie Ebbers, John and Timothy Rigas were overpaid.

BoiJen -> RE: A bit of Justice finally (5/4/2010 4:11:22 PM)

Hahaha...steep...as in price not actual structure lol

LadyEllen -> RE: A bit of Justice finally (5/4/2010 4:12:30 PM)

Mind you, if it were steep that might explain the hurricane damage

You are saying the daiphram roof is compromised and some of the roof trusses also?
That could get pricy. A monolithic 30 year rubber roof skin should run about two dollars a sq.ft. You might want to shop around on the repair work...maybe not let the roofer bid that go with a stacker or a framer for the repair work and let the roofer do what he does best.
Seventy five for a house that size seems pretty cheap from here in calif.

Steep in this sense is american slang for expensive and not the pitch of the roof.

BoiJen -> RE: A bit of Justice finally (5/4/2010 4:24:43 PM)

Yeah...if it weren't that we already pass on the ability to put out an offer. It's pending closing from someone else right now.

We've found another good one, no roof work needed, just appliances and about ten minutes further north. Gotta go look at that one and get it inspected too. Same price range. Fl got hit super hard by the housing crash so it's proving an opportune time to buy.
