If you don't think there is such a thing as a purist, then how can you elicit their views?
And I'm with Carrie, if this isn't just a rant, which is what it appears to be, then exactly what do you want to know?

Or do you just want someone to say "I'm a purist and I don't think you're a whore" which is the feeling I'm getting.

Oh Purleeeeeease...

It's obviously a discussion as well as 'just a rant' - The poster doesn't need any type of verification - the only reason shes getting a hard time from some of the regulars here is because shes fairly new posting herself.  How many times have I seen the majority of you bemoaning and calling people out for their 'one true wayisms'(edit to add) their puritists view?  My goodness - how terribly awful that a poster who 'only' has an 'Indecent' listing with 163 posts dare to 'just rant' - as well as ask our(generic) opinions!  The shock and horror of it all!

ok- ranting....i'm not. what i'm doing is making conversation, which is something i had written before on this very post. i'm not complaining, whining, or anything else of that nature. as i had before also, this is just based on my expirence- i.e. situations i have been in dealing with people who claim to be a purist. i've lost count as to how many times i have said this but i do not believe purist=prick. i dont believe all the aggressive behavior i have gotten from people that have claimed to be a purist represent ALL the view of EVERY purist. i'm really getting the impression that the on use for the forums on this website is to bitch/rant(however you see it),find a solution to a problem or seek validation. i hope that i'm wrong, but if not, somebody feel free to correct me.

Given and accepting the "Purist" is some one who to the best of their ability, live a lifestyle as as true to the form as they see it; There is a forum here dedicated to one group of purists who have been regularly denigrated by a good number of people who do not agree with their persuasion. The Gorean Forum which for ten years I was part of; living a Gorean Lifestyle. These folk probably bring on in part some of the problems doe to their bloody mindedness with some radices being outright hostile to those not of their persuasion. I am a purist again doing my damnedest to live as true as possible to a Victorian Era Lifestyle. knowing there will always be those who deride what I do due to non understanding or because as yet my finances can not afford the magick monetary force to suddenly create the home and other niceties of that period which admittedly favours the wealthy and especially those born to high society and rank. being a purist means that I have the dream and do what ever I can to follow it as accurately as I am able. It does not mean that I have any right to criticize anyone else's dream nor they way they live their life nor how or what they do. I don't have to like, agree with or even understand what others do but unless they or their actions interfere with my own or those of mine, live and let live.

Regarding being a leg opening whore, I say whole heartedly...Go girl you rock! I have and have had a number of amateur and professional whores both male and female for decades and will defend their choices. Mostly I have found them to be a damned side more honestv than many straight laced, holier than thou folk in my mundane community.

i respect you whole heartedly for your input. i never thought purist means trying to chop the heads off of those who may not agree with your personal standards. outside of BDSM, i wager that i am a 1950s purist, but do i go after those you may mix decades? nope- for what reason?

Wow, what a fascinatingly succinct and workable definition. By that definition, I would definitely be a purist M/s person. Of course, I don't for a minute think that the purity of my vision applies to anyone else in the whole world.
