Valid criticism, I said.  And if you want to criticize some old cunts headware, go right the fuck ahead, I tell you all the time that tinfoil hat don't look good on you, and I sleep soundly at night.

How much governing experience did Lincoln have?

It currently is a felony to hire an illegal alien. First offense it $10,000 and/or two years prison for each illegal.
It is currently a misdomeanor to be an illegal alien for the first offense,$2000 and /or six months

Merc, aside from your sarcasm, I guess you would say you're also assuming the reasons that Obama associates with being black for personal gain or political capital, instead of assuming the father/son complex and he is identifying with his father.

Personally, I never took the stance that he was our "messiah", nor that he has "run out of time".  I understood quite well at that time that whoever got the job was getting one helluva job that was going to be a bitch to tackle.  So I'll refrain from calling him a failure, yet...or maybe even at all.

Being as most presidents have never been presidents before...and many have lacked in areas when coming thru the gate, I also will not judge his credentials for the job.  If we go by that logic, why did we elect a class B actor (Reagan), as the president, back then?

Now you see, this is what happens as a result of the EEO/AA programs. Once a Black man gets a high end position everyone can point to those laws and think he only got the job because he was black to fill a quota.

Does the EEO/AA require anyone to hire unqualified people?

If those laws weren't there the question couldn't be asked and instead we'd focus on the man's result and not his race.

What were the results of 90 years before AA?

Some people suck and they point fingers at other people. The demanding masses who have barely a thimbleful of essence kick up great dust clouds and demand ugly design and a basic hellish existence and make a huge uproar in order to get it or if they dont they create all the ruckus deflecting the ability to see what is really going on.

Thank the Lord we have man of color as the President of the USA. Finally. Whether he is going to be able to do the sort of job he hopes to, or some us hope he can do will reveal itself in time. I mean, really how much power does he really have? How many parts puppet is the President no matter who or what color he is. Let's hope he is not aligned with the powers that have been pulling strings on this planet for way too long.

Thank the Christ Sarah or Bush, or Mc Cain are not in the White House. Thank God the Bush stopped stealing the election. Thank God people are waking up and some of the conscious people are stinking rich enough to make a dent in this old sorry state of a world.

Jimi, Prince and Bob M were half white. I wish the rest of us white folks could be so talented and so far reaching in our voice.

Moonhead -> RE: Is it because he's black ? (5/5/2010 8:55:53 AM)

Jimi Hendrix was actually half Cherokee, not half white. That's why Axis: Bold As Love has that daft Hindu sleeve painting. He'd asked the cover artist to show his Indian heritage, apparently, and the geezer got the wrong idea.

Really?

There's an affirmative action program for black Presidents?

Is this new?

If not it hasn't worked very well in the past.

Moonhead -> RE: Is it because he's black ? (5/5/2010 9:06:23 AM)

I dunno: Idi Amin did quite nicely out of a programme like that, didn't he?

Reagan had been a military officer, president of the screen actors guild, the governor of California... the truth about the man is nothing like you have been led to believe.

The military officer thing was an honourary title: he was kept out of the armed forces by his eyesight, and spent the war making propoganda broadcasts and other such media front stuff.

the governor of California...

Didn't he empty the insane asylums and filled the streets with the mentally ill to save a few bux?

Ain't that a fact.

Jimi Hendrix was Black, Caucasian and Cherokee.

As previously posted....

I was being sarcastic.

I'm sure that the 96% of the black vote he received was a result of those voters analyzing the issues, and Obama's ability. (In case there is any doubt - that was also sarcasm.)

Obama's is a man of mixed race who happens to identify as black for personal gains and political capital. His race only serves to distract from the issues. It's sad that this question has to be asked in the face of the lack of accomplishments by this administration.

When people bring it up it serves as a distraction. I guess the "he's not had enough time" excuse has expired - now it's "...because he's black."

When will the excuses end and reality set in? The man didn't have the experience necessary, he's an academic theorist attempting to apply intellectual theory in the real world and finding out it doesn't work. He is not doing a good job.

The racists on both sides can debate this irrelevant issue, serving only to polarize and distract.

Try and keep up.

It is my understanding from reading his books, his father wasn't too involved in his life growing up. The President was born in 1961, his parents divorced in 1964 and his father moved to Kenya. Per my recollection, I believe Obama saw him once after that.

It is my opinion, and I won't deny it isn't tinged with skeptical jading, but the President used his mixed race to his advantage. Not that there is anything wrong with that. It's also my opinion why he was passed so fast up the ranks of the Democratic Party. They used him, he used them, the result is Obama is President. I appreciate the goal was achieved, and appreciate the means without prejudice as I would admire any working strategy.

The distinction is they ran something. Some business, in Reagan's case, the union representing actors. He also was governor of a State and had experience running a government, which at the time, would have been one of the top 5 economies in the world if it was a stand alone sovereignty. In Lincoln's case, he had a failed businesses in his past.

Failed or functional the experience helped them and was drawn upon. Obama never ran or was responsible for anything. The peak position of responsibility and accountability he held was the law paper. His theoretical knowledge and his intelligence is not serving him well in practical application. Or, after one and a half years, do you see the policies he's implemented bringing forth the positive results or even a positive trend indicating that he, as its leader, has the US moving forward collectively?

Would you be so kind as to link us to the appropriate law that requires anyone to hire someone who is unqualified for the job?

No because there is no law - it is the result of the law. Why not start a topic on it?

So you would mistake him for a white man if you saw him on the street?
Do you know of anyone who when looking at him, thinks he is white?
Except perhaps for you doesn't everyone who sees him identify him as black?
