Actually, how can you even begin to think AZ's new law is an issue when all it does is give AZ the legal authority to enforce the exact same Federal immigration law(s) that the Federal government has failed to enforce? Perhaps you are blind and deaf and do not live in AZ. There is nothing okay with lying that AZ's law legalizes racial profiling. AZ's law specifically PROHIBITS law enforcement officer's from stopping people simply because they look a certain way. The system needed fixing, and AZ did exactly that. You need to educate yourself on whatever before you lie about it.

I think I have made up my mind on this issue.

That those opposed to it, have to make up stuff, and ignore the actually text, means a lot. Hell, the Obama Administration commented on it without even reading it. So it must be purley political concerns that drive them and thier opinion, not reality or the Good of the Nation.

As I've said repeatedly on these threads about the immigration law, what the Arizona legislature tried to do was an end-around federal law by adding that section, which was not in the original bill.

Which still does not address the issue of reasonable suspicion and how the police are to determine that.

It also does not address the issue that Arizona is usurping federal authority unconstitutionally.

Maybe you need to educate yourself before you start calling others liars.

There is no other way to rationally interpret it.

The "cover your ass"clause was added after the bill met initial objections.

But the law clearly allows police to stop anyone they believe to be illegal without that person having been suspected of any other crime, which is a clear departure from federal law.
