That's the problem,  you actually believe that.

I can attest that I've been pulled over, in nice cars and shitty cars, late at night and during the day, for being a white person in a predominantly black, drug dealing neighborhood.

Which begs the question - if 95% of white people in that situation are buying drugs, is racial profiling justified? And does it change the situation if it turns out the cops were right?

Yeah sure, where and when. I smell bullshit

Is it your belief that only blacks or hispanics get pulled for being in the wrong neighborhood?

quote:

Driving them home I was the only white person in the car. I did not even think about this until I was randomly pulled over one day. While the officer was walking to the car, one of my passengers said to me "It's because you're white and we're all black in this neighborhood." I shrugged it off and said no way. Immediately the police officer asked what we were up to even before asking for my license and registration. I explained I was giving them a ride home after practice and was asked a few more questions. We were let off with a warning. A few weeks later, I was picking one of them up before a game and was approached by police again. They asked what I was doing in that neighborhood. I explained I was waiting to pick someone up and they demanded I say who which I did not understand why but obliged regardless. They gave me a very hard time but let me off saying to be careful since the area was known for drugs. My friend later hopped in and told me that they pull over white people on that street because they think that they are drug dealers. Was he serious? I was considered to be a drug dealer because I was sitting outside a house waiting for a friend in a black neighborhood? This was the case and from that day on I have always been alert of these race distinctions. Depending where you are, the color of your skin WILL affect you.

This is extremely common.

Yeah, I'd say so. I realize the "persecuted majority complex" is coming out on this thread once again but that is what I believe. I don't think anyone has done any definitive studies on racial profiling in police stops so I have no hard evidence beyond the amount of Black Men that fill jails all across this fruited plain.

tazzygirl -> RE: AZ, All Stars, & Looking Illegal (5/17/2010 9:03:58 AM)

No one said black men arent targeted for being in "white" neighborhoods. I am simply stating this happens in reverse as well.

So the corrolary to your position is that you would continue to hire illegals because boycotting them would be a non issue.
Thank you for making your position clear.

1. Show me where I condoned anyone hiring illegals
2. Stop trying to put words in other peoples mouths, so to speak.

Perhaps you might want to look up corrolary

Or to use your bullshit style of debate, since you haven't taken a position  about giving Rottweilers blow jobs, you're all about giving Rottweilers blow jobs, thank you for making your position clear...

If you like giving rottweilers blow jobs that is your business and none of mine.

See how that works?

This is america you are free to suck any cock you choose so long as you "don't ask don't tell"

I have to agree with this.  In Fla this happens too.  Try riding thru the black section in town.  Try riding thru the black sections in town closer to where I live and you'll see it happening.  With proper ID you are usually let go.  But haven't you ever wondered who all those "Yo's" were directed to when a car of white people drove by (or why it was being said)?

[/quote]

So you are saying your husband driving alone has the same chance as you do of being stopped by police as you do? I know you know thats not true.

tazzygirl -> RE: AZ, All Stars, & Looking Illegal (5/17/2010 9:06:46 AM)

Why do you find that so hard to believe?

If by effective, you mean using realone/thompsonx tactics........ you will get people to walk away from the debate. But do they really win?

When an ignorant person enters into a discussion unarmed with facts and is confronted with data that they cannot refute they normally run away and say that they are bieig picked on instead of "manning up" and admitting their ignorance.

You'd admit then that the probability for a black man to be stopped is much greater?

Real ID is coming. And the immigration status check will be instant, swiping a Drivers Liscence through a card reader.

Just like your claims of the mythical "hydrogen highway" [8|]

I am saying depending on the neighborhood the profiling can differ.  While my husband might not get stopped by the police for driving thru a black section of town (because he's black), I may.  I may be stopped because (at least in fla) white people drive to the black towns to get their drugs.  I am not implying only black people sell drugs.  But I am stating "Yo" is another term for "looking for anything?  I can accommodate you".  And I am stating the cops know this.

Ah so now you are looking for degrees of wrongness. Interesting. Would you not agree that even one incident is wrong? I dont advocate the stopping of any color regardless of any reason... unless they are on a man hunt. If you happen to be a white man in an area that someone was raped/killed/shot at/beaten/what have you by a white man, than pull them all over. Same in respect to a black man, hispanic, white/black/asian woman, ect ect ect.

Unless you are looking for someone who has committed a crime, there is no excuse to pull anyone over in any neighborhood regardless of race.

My point was that it happens, daily, and it happens to more than just one race. Now, if you wish to turn this into a "blacks are more prosecuted than whites" thats your perogative, not mine. Nor will it help any situation.

Racism of any kind is wrong... plain and simple. And, until we as a nation stop looking at skin color and look a bit deeper, racism wont ever change.

Its just as racist to declare your own race as being "more downtrodden" than any other race as to point fingers at another race and whisper... "omg there is a _______" (insert your own form of nasty comment there)

Actually domyngblck and domiguy have both insulted me.

Kind of funny you get all upset at the word troll though.

I've insulted most of the people on this board. [8D]

DYB isn't a troll. I rarely agree with him, but he's a genuine enough guy.

You seldom agree with me either but so far I don't remember you insulting me.
Why am I being left out.
[:(]

DomYngBlk -> RE: AZ, All Stars, & Looking Illegal (5/17/2010 9:38:58 AM)

Wow. I guess my question would be have you ever been stopped in a predominantly black area. If you are going to tell me your step into your car and start driing and wonder if you might get pulled over cause of the color of your skin.....bullshit.

Really? So you can't imagine boycotting a company if it turned out they were exploiting their employees?  Funny, I wouldn't hesitate.

I know they both start with C and end with Y but "country" and "company" are two different concepts.

Or at least they should be [8D]

I take it that you were not in favor the boycot against south africa and apartied.

In what way does that change the fact that you already had to proove your immigration/citizenship status to get the drivers liscence? You had to proove your SSN to get it in the first place.

Total bullshit.
As has been mentioned by me to you on numerous occassions a birth certificate does not in any field verifiable manner offer proof of your citizenship.
I have never needed a ssn to get a dirvers license.
I only had to walk into a social security office when I was fifteen years old and tell them I wanted a social security card. I filled out the paper work and they handed me the card.
Me, a minor at the time had to offer nothing more than my word as to my status as a citizen

Ok yeah, its the racist black man here trying to turn everything into a pity party for myself. Hey, blacks are the only people that sell drugs to whites in florida and blacks must be naturally more prone to get tossed in jails in greater percentage than whites. Same goes for hispanics as well......obviously we all have chips on our shoulders and feel put a upon. Causing me to make racist claims. I see

Here is a question. Someone mentioned, not sure who, that illegal immigrants do the work other americans dont want to do. What work would that be?

Physical labor that pays minimum wage or less.

thishereboi -> RE: AZ, All Stars, & Looking Illegal (5/17/2010 9:57:13 AM)

Do you always whine when you can't get others to see your point? Yes whites also sell drugs to whites in fla, however, I can go into white neighborhoods without fear of being pulled over for being white. When I used to drive into certain neighborhoods to buy drugs, I ran the risk of being pulled over for being white. And yes the guys on the corner, yelling "yo, yo" were trying to get my attention so they could sell me drugs. I know this for a fact, because after they got my attention, they sold me drugs. Now I was real lucky back then because I only got pulled over once and could prove I had a friend in the neighborhood, others are not so lucky.

Oh and off topic, but didn't you say before that the reason more blacks were in jail was because there were more cops in your city? Now it's because of racial profiling...hmmmm

Now, you're putting words in my mouth.  Are you looking for pity??  I'm not into attending pity parties, myself.  I'm not going to get into a racist argument with you because quite frankly, the more you talk, the more you sound like a bitter racist.  And the glory of this is, we've never met.  You can't blame your ways of feeling on me.
