I love the tazzys. bois, and the racer jims of the world that will only respond to a topic once they are informed that they should have an interest.

Why wasn't this a big deal to them two years ago?

Puppets.

I respond when I decide i want to respond. Not because some loud mouth posting on a thread decides i need too.

Two years ago i was not posting here, but on my yahoo blog... and i had a long one about this very issue.

I dont care if you approve of my stand on illegals, its MY stand. Dont like it? tough. i wont change it for anyone.

They are here.... wait for it... this is an important part...

illegally

And two years ago....You didn't give a shit about the issue.

You know why....wait for it.....this is the important part....

No one told you that you should be concerned. Puppet!

DomYngBlk -> RE: AZ, All Stars, & Looking Illegal (5/19/2010 6:41:08 AM)

If I had the money to build something like that I would do it. But I don't. I don't think we need to argue the corruption in the Mexican Gov't and the effect that that has. I agree. But that doesn't take away from  human pain and suffering. Does it make more sense to turn a blind eye to it...and say, Oh well not my problem?

Economic Activity like that and giving and caring for others are two different things. IMHO

Louve00 -> RE: AZ, All Stars, & Looking Illegal (5/19/2010 6:45:26 AM)

You're right, it doesn't take away from the human pain and suffering.  It's not right to turn a blind eye to it.  But it hurts and effects our economy in a negative way.  I wish I had the money to invest in Mexico too.  Since the Mexican gov't either doesn't have the money to, or won't...some fat cat sure could make a bundle while helping them....but alas...I don't have the money either.

Jeffff -> RE: AZ, All Stars, & Looking Illegal (5/19/2010 6:45:39 AM)

There is human suffering everywhere. At some point a line has to be drawn.

That is a lovely sentiment, but it doesn't work like that.

Why can't, in this case, the Mexiacn government help thier people? Why can't the people of Mexico help themsleves?

I have no problem with imigration. I have a problem with illegal imigration.

I am not saying illegal immigration is right but we don't want to take a view at fixing it. We rather sit and blame the people that are affected by gov't policies and an oligarchy of power in Mexico. The status quo suites many people here and we'd like not to force the Mexican Gov't to take care of its people. I'd much rather we brought our men and women back from overseas and do some invading of Mexico to stabilize the border area and root out some of the illegal activity.

That said, I put myself in the shoes of any mexican. I am faced with that life or trying to find a better life legal or otherwise in the US? I'd be crossing the border everyday. Wouldn't all of us?

Is that one sentence that hard to understand?

And just because we were lucky enough to be born here we get to draw that line? Why do we get to be God , judge and jury while other Humans die off when we can help them.

domiguy -> RE: AZ, All Stars, & Looking Illegal (5/19/2010 6:49:21 AM)

I understood you, I just don't believe you....

wait for it.....this is the important part.... Only because you are full of shit.

Jeffff -> RE: AZ, All Stars, & Looking Illegal (5/19/2010 6:50:51 AM)

Yes I probably would, what's your point?

I work in the a very poor neighborhood, VERY poor. Is it understandable if folks here sell drugs as opposed to working at Burger King? Sure it is, is it understandable if they get arrested? Sure it is.

Because many of these folks have never had much of a break, should we just not arrest them?

I know I don't want to pick lettuce, I know illegals do the jobs most don't want to do. I also wonder that if those jobs could not be filled, perhaps they would pay more?

VideoAdminZeta -> RE: AZ, All Stars, & Looking Illegal (5/19/2010 6:55:54 AM)

Clearly, "dial it down please" did not work.  Let's try this.

If you don't dial it down, you may have to show a pass whenever you want to cross the CollarChat border.

Jeffff -> RE: AZ, All Stars, & Looking Illegal (5/19/2010 6:57:50 AM)

I will crawl over at midnight!

Tehn I will take a Mod's job......who else would want it?...:)

DomYngBlk -> RE: AZ, All Stars, & Looking Illegal (5/19/2010 6:58:02 AM)

And we are converging on agreement. Yes, we should make employers pay the penalty of using undocumented workers. Pay scales would rise , prices in the stores would rise and we would actually help our economy. I agree. But, vilifying and actually harming people that are just trying to eat and help their families seems inhuman to me.

Your point about drugs is the same thing. If you start arresting the poeple buying rather than selling......then you wouldn't have to worry about people on the corner.

It is not the job of the US to be parent to every country. We have enough problems at home without opening our arms to embrace any and all who wish to enter. Now, why is it everyone wants to paint a mexican face on illegal immigration?

Why are you advocating the practice of rewarding criminals?

pft, Jeffff... the lettuce pickers are only 3% of the illegal population

DomYngBlk -> RE: AZ, All Stars, & Looking Illegal (5/19/2010 7:04:57 AM)

Not sure what you mean by a "mexican" face. We don't have minutemen in New York State trying to keep illegal canadians out of the US.

Its not a reward to be compassionate and try to help the problem. Or, as I said, are you just advocating we should sit back in all instances and just not help? When earthquakes or famine or war hit areas of the world we should sit back and just watch?

"criminal" is a slippery slope. Did you speed this morning? Yesterday? If so, you too are a criminal.

It's over. You don't get it. Instead of sending our jobs out of the country those from out of the country are coming for the jobs. I assure you that illegals are not coming to take my job.

The illegals are taking the worst jobs available.

Jeffff -> RE: AZ, All Stars, & Looking Illegal (5/19/2010 7:06:47 AM)

That is correct.

tazzygirl -> RE: AZ, All Stars, & Looking Illegal (5/19/2010 7:08:49 AM)

Nope, didnt speed once.

Second, natural disasters are an entirely different animal. As much as you may want to paint me into the corner, the issue stands that we have an immigration process. Bypassing that process is a crime. Using someone else's SS number to get a job/welfare benefits is a felony. Do you also promote the tolerance and forgiveness of the drug dealer on the school steps?

DomYngBlk -> RE: AZ, All Stars, & Looking Illegal (5/19/2010 7:14:41 AM)

No rolling stops or crooked turns? No cell phones? Always cross the street at the light? whatever.

Why are they different? We readily accept people for political asylum. Do you not think that Mexicans are runnng away from an oppresive govt?

I am saying you need to get him off the steps of the school but you also better understand why he is there. The Mohawks run cig's across the St. Lawrence daily. You would have no problem the Federal Gov't arresting the leaders of the Tribe for allowing that activity?
