You know this to be true. You don't care.

Not quite, DG. Everything that President Obama is facing is what he was fucking elected to deal with!

Sanity -> RE: Obama Avoids Tough Questions from Press, Again (5/20/2010 8:12:18 PM)

Whats your theory? Why is he so averse to holding press conferences that even his adoring fans over at CBS are beginning to grumble about it.

I disagree, Sanity. For one thing, the people around him are just as, if not more, radical than he is. I'm not sure they yet get the whole 'over their heads' thing, either.

The poor little fella never stood a chance.

They don't wask to risk losing a week of the news cycle to another dumb gaffe, Sanity. If CBS is taking the piss on them over it (did I get that expression right?), it might be a chance they'll have to take soon enough.

Don't worry, he'll continue to shock the shit out of you. You can't even see it coming.

Explain your thoughts on the kernel though, why is it such a risk...

cuckoldmepls -> RE: Obama Avoids Tough Questions from Press, Again (5/20/2010 8:24:18 PM)

Well you can say that about any President. Bush had to deal with the issues that Clinton left him. Bush was also left with the legacy of surrender in Vietnam, Clinton's withdrawal from Somali, and Reagan's withdrawal from Lebanon. The fact is, the whole world is now aware that all the have to do is outlast us, and they will win. Obama sure is going to change that policy. I would guess that every domme on this site has more balls than Obama.

cuckoldmepls -> RE: Obama Avoids Tough Questions from Press, Again (5/20/2010 8:28:10 PM)

I mean isn't going to change it. Here's something else I noticed. Obama has an aversion to killing terrorist, but he has no qualms about killing unborn children. In my view, he's no better than Hitler, and probably worse, since unborn children can't fight back.

You're wrong. You may not like what he says but he says what he means and he gets it done. That's what really scares the shit out of you and your wingerati because you can't defend against a real man.

~FR
It was class that he exhibited. He was hosting a foreign dignitary and he felt it wasn't cool to be commenting on the dealio when that was the headliner. Jeebus if this is your most vile condemnation, you better work harder on the interwebz.

[Edit to add the FR]

I'm not sure what you're looking for. President Obama is quite capable of putting his foot in his mouth, and they don't want that.

Not even my trusty old magic 8 ball could predict how such a gaffe might manifest itself, or what it might reveal about our President.

Just a little bit emotionally invested, are we, Tee? [;)]

subtee -> RE: Obama Avoids Tough Questions from Press, Again (5/20/2010 9:24:02 PM)

Yes, as are you. It's a different class of folks who are interested and spend time to learn, read and try to understand what goes on. You and I are the same.

I care, Tee, and I think this stuff matters, but I am oh so damn cynical at this point, and your comment above was one of somebody who still really believes.

subtee -> RE: Obama Avoids Tough Questions from Press, Again (5/20/2010 9:49:08 PM)

I am cynical when I try not to help it. But I'm not stupid. I got my college creds--graduated summa cum laude, with honors, phi beta kappa, blah, blah, blah. Opinions about me are telling not for what I am, but for what people assume about me. I like that.

We can be as ugly or as hopeful or as naiive as we wanna be. I do believe in Obama. I think a lotta folks are gonna be eating their words. I do believe that. He's different in many ways from so many leaders we're used to. That's why (I believe) there is so much dissension and hyperbole. Because he is a do it, I said it and I meant it guy. No puppetmaster behind the scenes, he's willing to fuck up but he'll put himself out there and take responsibility for doing so. That's refreshing and new. A leader.

Iowa is the first in the nation political test with our caucus. It's contentious but it's very cool at the same time. When he came here at the very first inkling of running for president I didn't support him because I didn't believe he had any chance in hell he'd be president. I was cynical (but thought I was pragmatic). He surprised me and he has endured since being elected and he will continue to surprise and get shit done, whether the winds blow with him or not, he's got his shit figured out. I can't see not respecting him for that, at least.

TheHeretic -> RE: Obama Avoids Tough Questions from Press, Again (5/20/2010 10:10:24 PM)

Glad to hear you are all edjumicated and stuff, Tee, but being born again can cloud ones vision all the same.

subtee -> RE: Obama Avoids Tough Questions from Press, Again (5/20/2010 10:17:02 PM)

(Sorry for the education stuff but I earned it, raising toddlers on my own..not because I'm brilliant, but because I work hard. Why does it bother?)

Tell me, then, how my vision is clouded. Is he not doing what he says he'll do? Is he not taking responsibility (even when it's not really his deal, as in the oil spill)? Where am I missing the mark?

Strictly a matter of how one interprets what is seen, Tee. For example, that light, the one at the end of the tunnel? It's a train.

You have faith. I do not. Can we get anywhere from those two positions?
