Hello eibhlinauvert, I'm going to ignore all the snarking fromn both sides (myself included, I think, but I can't quite remember) and directly address this post, because I didn't respond directly to it at the time and there are a couple of things I assumed someone else would say but seem not to have come up. quote:
ORIGINAL: eibhlinauvert I like to read threads sometimes, when a topic sounds interesting to me, and i am more often than not disapppointed when it goes off topic and i cant gain the information i was hoping to acquire I'd like first to point out that we're talking about a minority of threads here. People don't normally jump all over the OP-only when they perceive either that the OP has a 'bad attitude' or that they are asking a 'stupid question'. Here we are talking about the former. Second, I'd like to explain why I haven't got an awful lot of sympathy with your position: you read and don't (until now) join in. It doesn't take much to redirect a thread in a positive way-you say 'I'd really like to hear more about the OP-here is my input'. I read this post and a political campaign slogan popped into my head. I can't remember which side of the pond it came from or which party, but it is Be the change you want to see. (Now I'll apologise and give you all a little time to go and throw up.) Done being disgusted by the sheer nauseous cheesiness of the words? Good. But the message still stands. (This next paragraph sounds aggressive. Bear in mind that it isn't-I'm being blunt but I'm not in any way angry, ok? I just don't really want to tone down the language, hence this disclaimer.) If you're a lurker (which up until now you have been) you don't benefit me anything. You sit there and absorb the content without giving anything back. I therefore am not really that bothered about your opinion of the content, apart from the innate dislike of being criticised that *everyone* has. If you don't participate then IMO you don't get a say in the running of the thing. quote:
...because the Collar Me clique has jumped all over and decided to berate, take the piss out of, or in my opinion, most of the time, bully the OP who isnt part of this circle. If you were to participate in the boards in a positive way then you could balance up the actions of the 'CM Clique', but you have chosen not to do that. Instead your first post is a blunt attack. I'm going to go against what I said before and reference something after this post. A while later you said 'it was not my intention to have all of you on my back also'-what did you think was going to happen? You're an adult, you must *know* people do not respond well to blunt attacks. What happened with your post is that you failed to 'be the change you want to see' [another vomit break, but the sentiment is valid]. You basically pointed a finger and said 'you guys are nasty' in a very nasty way, and then acted surprised when people were nasty to you as a result. Bottom line: you generated a whole load more of the negativity you complained about. This isn't primary school. If you want to complain about how there is no intellectual dialogue you don't get to throw tantrums and expect to be taken seriously. quote:
I recognise at least 50 % of the people on this thread from other threads and i really think you are out of order in your treatment of someone who came on to ask whether she had permisson to post a link for a charity. Her pictures have now become the subject. If her pictures were not suitable in the first place, I really dont see why the Collar Me website has not before now noticed and removed them. Do you have any idea how big the CM site is? The admins are volunteers-if they had to go through every picture it would cripple them. I would also point out the OP's second post to the thread: quote:
Wow, I didn't know the womans physical form was so offensive to you. Do you think your my DOM and I should follow your orders? Is this picture more acceptable to you? Does your religious backround require that the womans form remained covered? Is the female form shameful to you? Do you think women who show their bodies are of lesser morale value? Do you think women who show their bodies are "asking for it?" How many others have you reported here on Collare Me? Before that there had been some light snarking from sunshine, a request from VAA to remove the photo followed by a post from VAA saying she had removed the photo and some talking between holly and sunshine. The OP could have accepted that a site admin had determined her picture (which *clearly* violated TOS) unacceptable and decided that the charity was her primary concern on this thread, but she didn't-she chose to post the above instead. The 'treatment; she got wasn't anyting to do with the charity; it was to do with the way she abandoned the charity and got aggressive. quote:
...and if someone posts a thread you find tedious, ignoring it is probably alot more effective than giving it five pages of attention. Just to point out, you've now given this thread around five pages of attention... Edited because I missed out an 'and'.
