Brain -> 63% Favor Repeal of National Health Care Plan - Yahoo! News (5/24/2010 8:10:52 PM)

I would improve it with a public option. I would not repeal it. I would have just let everyone go on Medicare that was unhappy with their health insurance because just about everybody is happy to be on Medicare.

Actually, that's all they should have done is put legal citizens who are below the poverty level on medicaid. Instead they tried to take over the whole health care industry. What's funny is 25% of those who want it repealed are still crying for the public option, even though the reason the democrats gave up on it was because they knew beyond the shadow of a doubt it was unconstitutional and 75% of the states would have opted out.

This comes as no surprise to me...the bill that was passed did nothing to resolve the underlying problems in the American health care system, sure it slapped a few band aids on (the pre-existing condition stuff), but it basically forced everybody to buy over priced health insurance with no mechanism in place to reduce those costs, nor did it do anything to reign in the costs of actual medical treatment. It was a waste of the paper it was printed on, and likely put back real sensible reform by 10 to 20 years.

I don't see this being repealed because Obama would just veto it and they will never get 2/3 to override the veto.

Hard to believe you actually agree with me about something - almost enough to make me believe in God again - I said almost.

The pre-existing condition dealio was huge. HUGE. Also, much of the bill has not even been realized. In reality.

Opinions expressed now are (just as during the hyperbolic hypothetical machinations) based on whatever news source folks use.

Maybe some of them got letters from human resources about what the changes are going to mean? I had one of those.

(I did get back to your question on the other thread, btw)

We must crawl before we can walk...don't tell the wingers, it's a big secret.

I would make the polling more specific. Why they want to repeal it? The only reason I can see would be the increase in cost. Also, there are  many problems with medical care not going away.

I have no vested interest in it at all, I just like to reply to threads now and then....it gets pretty boring watching you Americans scream about whose side is right and whose is wrong...especially when both are wrong

The article you cited says that they asked 1000 people in a telephone survey...
We are suppose to believe that this 1000 people represent the collective opinion of more than 300 million americans...
Dude I want some of what you are smoking.
