This comes as no surprise to me...the bill that was passed did nothing to resolve the underlying problems in the American health care system, sure it slapped a few band aids on (the pre-existing condition stuff), but it basically forced everybody to buy over priced health insurance with no mechanism in place to reduce those costs, nor did it do anything to reign in the costs of actual medical treatment. It was a waste of the paper it was printed on, and likely put back real sensible reform by 10 to 20 years.

You got it. This happens typically in our plutocracy...no real reform. Reform in our society is a re-arrangement of profits. Without the public option, the opposition knew this was really the best of all worlds. Still got great profits rolling in yet it is something to rail against and used so health care can be reformed again...for more profits.

Even if the poll results are accepted as "true", it proves nothing, except that the American people have been systematically miseducated and lied to by America's lying right-wing media.

Not necessarily, I do not listen to much of anything the mediaputs out and I am 100% against this bill...it can be opposed from both left and right....hey, maybe that's a good thing, maybe it will be the thing that unites the American people and bring about an era of real bipartisan cooperation to rule the US fairly and in the interests of the people and not the megacorporations....hey a guy can fantasize can't he?[;)]

I have no vested interest in it at all, I just like to reply to threads now and then....it gets pretty boring watching you Americans scream about whose side is right and whose is wrong...especially when both are wrong

I'm not buying it, Arpig. There is just way to much Canadian interest in our healthcare. I suspect that you guys scapegoat us for the failings of your system. Maybe you all have been led to believe that if all the good doctors didn't go down to the States to make real money, you wouldn't have to wait so long, or something.

I would make the polling more specific. Why they want to repeal it? The only reason I can see would be the increase in cost. Also, there are  many problems with medical care not going away.

The main problem is  Scott Rasmussen is a conservative shill and his poll numbers favoring right-wing views are consistently higher than any other polls taken within the same time period.

Not just on health care but on all issues.

Take a look at the numbers below and you'll see what I mean.

Of that 63%, i would be interested in knowing how many understand it.

What would really be interesting is how many who voted for it understood it.

truckinslave -> RE: 63% Favor Repeal of National Health Care Plan - Yahoo! News (5/25/2010 9:06:57 AM)

We recently had a larger poll in Massachusetts.

Hell, i agree. I often wonder how many of those in Congress actually read the bill... regardless of how they voted for it.

That reminds me of the Democratic House Speaker Nanci Pelosi, who said of the health care bill,

“But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it,..."

Disingenuous as always.

The actual quote:

[image]http://www.breitbart.tv/wp-content/themes/breitbart/images/common/dot.gif[/image] “But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy."

Thats what Sanity said... in those three little dots after the quote.

Sanity -> RE: 63% Favor Repeal of National Health Care Plan - Yahoo! News (5/25/2010 11:56:30 AM)

So the best thing to do is work through the controversial parts after it becomes law?

Are you related to Nanci Pelosi by any chance?  [8|]

tazzygirl -> RE: 63% Favor Repeal of National Health Care Plan - Yahoo! News (5/25/2010 11:57:42 AM)

That isnt what she said either, Sanity.

The fog of controversy....

You remember... death panels? Dems refusing republicans health care? things like that.

Sanity -> RE: 63% Favor Repeal of National Health Care Plan - Yahoo! News (5/25/2010 12:00:16 PM)

So the fog of  controversy necessitates passing bills that no one understands? [:D]

Wheres the domitroll at when a certain someone needs to be called what she is...  [;)]

tazzygirl -> RE: 63% Favor Repeal of National Health Care Plan - Yahoo! News (5/25/2010 12:01:28 PM)

lol

Arent you man enough to do your own dirty work?

ETA

So you admit you dont understand the law. You admit that most of that 63% dont understand what they are objecting too either.

Thank you for your honesty.

Sanity -> RE: 63% Favor Repeal of National Health Care Plan - Yahoo! News (5/25/2010 12:04:32 PM)
