ORIGINAL: LadyPact Work with Me here. Let's say I had a private company and I employed 1,000 people. In making My business' five year plan, I knew that there would be a certain amount of turnover and an expected a certain amount of growth. If I expect to have to continually hire enough people to cover those employees that I lost through normal circumstances and I planned to cover those folks through My plans. Then POW! A couple of years into My five year plan, My business soars and literally, My 1,000 employees really just aren't enough to meet My needs. I need employees quick and I need them yesterday. Obviously, My HR plan for turnover is no longer sufficient. Add to this, say we have a serious explosion of some sort and many of My employees are no longer capable of remaining in My business because of health reasons. (My euphemism for those soldiers who are hurt or killed in service.) Damn. Now I'm really screwed. My five year plan isn't anywhere near realistic anymore, even though it might have been when I created it. If one has a five year business plan and sudenly you see the posibility of expanding your business exponentially. If you jump at that business opportunity without first making sure you have adequate resources that is prima-facia evidence that you should be an employee and not a manager. First dumsfeld said we will attack the ememy at a time and place of our choosing... when things started down the toilet dumsfeld said... You go to war with the army you have not the army you want. In a real life business his ass gets fired. In the world of wars of agression for agrandisement you get a very large pension and all the residuals from the stock you own in the war toy manufacturing companies. I am having trouble why you would take the word of a recruiting sergent who may have first hand knowledge of his recruiting post and hear say information of other recruiting post; and dismiss the considered assesssment of that sergents ultimate boss, a three star general whose job is to recruit and train the armies soldiers, as nothing more than opinion. If that is your position then we will just have to agree to disagree.
