about 2 years ago ish now I was able to get a nice tank tini from motherhood maternity in a size 3 x but now I'm much bigger, does any one know  jst how big maternity sizes go? I'm going on vacation and joe will want me to get into the pool with him and I have ZERO to swim in:(

Places like fashion bug charge like 70 bucks or more for shitty swim suits I bought one from them originally right size and everything and in one wear the stitching poped out of the top:(

They're just as expensive. I bought some pants from them 100 bucks for one pair of pants.

Lane Bryant has several swimsuits under $50.  If you want something cheaper, you better start combing the thrift stores.

When I bought my swim suit at motherhood matenrity it was 34 dollars, however I don't think maternity goes clear upto size 60 lol.

I did a quick Google of maturnity swimsuits.... 3X is the largest I found. I did not check every site, however.
Spending 60-100 dollars on a classic, good quality swimsuit is well worth the money. They  last years.. and a cute sarong can mix it up a little for you when you are just lounging on the beach or on a chaise at the pool.

yeah, if I swam lots, I only need it for one week. Maybe I'll take up swimming classes to justify tons of money on a suit haha

Also how are you garenteed or at least have a good chance of a well made suit? the one I had looked really nice then I wore it  just once and shoddy stitching poped

Hello, all my girsl are BBWS for the most part and we make everything now custom..They got tired of buying clothing, wearing it once or twice and it falling apart on them, so they now are doing custom stuff for thier girl friends and some for those who can afford quality. You might try a local custom tailor to make good quality you will pay the price but you will get exaclty what you want..

Well, perhaps as stef said, you may want to check out cosignment or thrift shops in that case. If you only wear a swinsuit once every three years, who cares how the stiching holds up.

If I had bought a swimsuit and the stitching popped on the first wear, I would be back at the store I purchased it from, demanding a refund.

I did send it back   mbmbn and then we went to the maternity store lol. sounds odd I know but maternity cuts are so much more flattering sometimes than so called  plus size cuts.

GMR I know what you mean, I bought a brand new pair of panties and then imediatly all the stitching poped out, and I have had embroidered tops where the stitching was poor quality and it unravled. A beaded top the beads were stitched on so loosely that beads would come off to easily.

It all depends on where you shop I guess or luck of the draw that stuff aint poor quality.

Trust me, Motherhood Maternity is more expensive now than Lane Bryant.  I'm realizing the fun of finding maternity clothes that don't cost much.  (It's not much fun).  I'm a size twelve normally but I have really big hips and shoulders, and I'm a sixteen right now, so I shop at both stores.  Lane Bryant's all around cheaper.  Then again, I'm a clearance shopper.

I would give Fashion Bug another try. I bought a suit from there 3 years ago, and it's held up fabulously. i go swimming a lot since my parents live on a lake, plus i take several trips to other states throughout the summer and swim there. The suit looks just as good today as the day i bought it. Granted, i don't know how far the sizes go there, and i'm shrinking so i'll need a new suit soon anyways.
I don't know what stores are in your area, so i'm sorry if i'm not much help.

As an alternative we could ban swimsuits for both sexes globally….. Save everybody money then…. . (Naked is GOOD  Clothes are EVIL)

I like Catherine's (one of the Charming Shoppes, like Fashion Bug). They tend to have larger sizes and a better selection.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you too are having such a hard time finding a swim suit. I am a BBW but am smaller than a 3x and still I too have problems finding them. Basically just wanted to let you know I understand how you feel. When you go into a plus sized store yes you are going to have to pay for better quality ($100 or a pair of pants). So if you do get something like that and it falls apart take it back! Unfortunately at this time I can't point you in the direction of a swim suit, but for PLUS SIZE LINGERIE have you checked into an online site  www.hipsandcurves.com   they go up to a 6x. I haven't ordered anything yet, but I have seen some nice things and wanted to pass it along. Remember thou sometimes we have to pay for quality, it's up to us if we wear it more than once.

Yes, true Catherines does carry 'extended' sizes (is what they call it). But everytime I check for swimwear they say sorry. But here's the link... http://catherines.charmingshoppes.com/shopping/thumbnails.aspx?p28=y&extendedSizes=yes   you give it a try.

No!  No!  No!  Do you realize what a tragic waste of potential joy it is to restrict yourself in this way?  Life is short, sweetheart.  If you put off doing things until conditions are just right, you may very well end up never doing them at all.  I enjoyed sex when I weighed over 350 pounds just as much as when I starved myself down to 128 back in high school.  Sure, I felt a little more self-conscious and less athletic at a bigger size, but that didn't keep me from cumming my brains out at every decent opportunity.  There's a hushed yet insidious taboo in American culture about overweight people (especially women) expressing their sexuality.  Why???  Trust me there are TONS (no pun intended) of fat admirers out there, and many are highly desirable, even by this society's narrow standards.  Realizing that BBWs really are beautiful has revolutionized my life.  My advice is that you go see that "Fat Girls" movie with Monique because her positive attitude is contagious, buy yourself some lingerie that fits and flatters, then call up an old flame or new spark and set up a seduction that's more about sharing sensations than evaluating appearance.  I think you'll be pleasantly surprised to learn that you're the toughest critic of your body, and even your prejudice and insecurities can be overcome

You're crafty, so you could try to make your own.  Or you could ask a seamstress to do it.  Depending on where you go it can be inexpensive.
