ORIGINAL: tazzygirl Do you believe he would be allowed into the US with a felony on his record? Theres 195 other countries he can go to and I don't think he has ever been here. As for coming to the US. He MIGHT be allowed in as he hasn't been charged in the US (bet he'd be a fool to try because he might be charged) If he really wanted to come here, there's a hundred ways to do it without going thru immigration. He has Anglo looks and if he speaks fluent English, noone would ever look at him twice. Anyone with a criminal conviction of any kind is refused entry into the US (& various other countries).. the US has access to databases of many countries, maybe all of them, to access criminal records.. they dont care how old the charge was or what it was for, if they see it you will be turned away.. Even Bush when he was Prez needed special permission to enter Canada since he had a DUI on his record. During the Olympics, Canadian Ross Rebagliat was turned away from the US just cuz he had admitted publicly that he had smoked pot at one time. If someone with a criminal record wants to enter the US then they need to likely hire an lawyer and apply for a wavier which could take up to a year or so.. no guarantee they will give you one.. and yes, he could try to enter illegally or by some other way but it would still be very hard to do.. imo.. He would have to make it to Mexico, find a coyote and walk cross the desert.. But really, why in the world would he even want to come to the US? He never bothered to before.. much easier for him to live someplace where cops can be bought.. http://norml.org/news/2002/02/07/pot-admission-bars-former-olympian-entry-to-us
