Were you ever put in a situation where you had to decide whether or not to file sexual harassment charges? Have you ever or do you know anyone who has?

I have and I decided it wasn't worth the trouble. It was easier to laugh at the asshat. 2 other girls in the same office felt the same way. The 3rd one didn't, but she was sleeping with him, so I am not sure if she counts or not.

My ex was constantly harassed at work.At least twice that I know of she had to quit her waitress job b/c some jerkoff men couldn`t control themselves.

My thoughts at the time was WTF isn`t the owner who gets crapped on,fired or forced out?

They were the assholes who caused the problem, not my wife`s body.

This shit is so wrong.

I`m a little surprised at the cattiness and jabs. She`s got a family to support. She`s a victim.

On a lighter note,I bet there`s some guys in the office who would love to give the unics who fired her a limper for ruining a good thing.

Its in arbitration because according to her employment contract, she cant sue. Not sure if we will ever know the outcome.

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: Fired for being to sexy? (6/5/2010 9:03:59 PM)

Personally, I think she's pretty damn sexy. I agree she showed poor judgement in wardrobe choice for the interview.

No clue or opinion about her claims. But again, I think she's pretty hot. I wouldn't mind one damn bit looking like her.

Thank you for posting this. It express much of my feelings. Maybe she's a scammer. What I don't like is that the automatic reaction was that she was one because she "wasn't that pretty" or "wasn't that sexy" or probably was incompetent or used poor judgement.

Women succumb to sexual harassment daily. I have to deal with it, not just from employers, but also from associates and clients. It's not totally overt, but it's there. Some has been. I guess some people prefer to live with their heads in the sand when it comes to these issues.

She claims to be a victim anyway. How much would you like to bet this "victim" has already approached Playboy, and/or a few other periodicals with an offer?

If mod warnings need to get more specific, feel free to let us know.  Off the board.

Hi blushes,

Not everyone is so lucky and it doesn`t change anything anyway.Wrong is wrong.

Saint -> RE: Fired for being to sexy? (6/5/2010 10:02:44 PM)

Lets play devils advocate here for a moment. Is it not possible that perhaps, just perhaps she was absolutely horrible at her job? And she hid that behind the one thing she had going for her, her sex appeal and looks? And is it not also possible that as xxblushesxx states she has already been approached by playboy or some other magazine? She would not be the first beautiful woman I have seen (and worked with) who was completely incompetent at her job and got fired for it only to turn around and claim sexism, sexual abuse or some other reason. I am not saying that this is the case here as I do not know. But this is a very possible scenario and one that is repeated countless times each week with incompetent employees.

What gets me here is that so many people are jumping on the bandwagon here and immediately assuming that she is the victim when all we really know is that this is a classic case of he said/she said since none of us were there. Now being who I am as a person, if I fired an employee for incompetance and they turned around and tried this, you can bet your ass that I would be suing them for defemation of character and for whatever proceeds they got from any professional endorsements they got for defaming my company.

tazzygirl -> RE: Fired for being to sexy? (6/5/2010 10:04:15 PM)

Reading how she described her female co-workers was a real insight into the workings of her mind.

laurell3 -> RE: Fired for being to sexy? (6/5/2010 10:05:01 PM)

I'm a little unclear how we're getting these specific opinions on it either way. ANYONE can file a lawsuit, it means nothing. In fact, it is a standard jury instruction that the mere fact that a suit was filed is not evidence of anything. There really is not enough information here to tell one way or the other. Yes, sexual harassment occurs in the workplace everyday and it shouldn't. Did it happen here? We do not know.

Ironically, if she's dressing like she did in the interview at work, she could be the one guilty of sexual harassment of others. Again, we don't know that either.

Jeffff -> RE: Fired for being to sexy? (6/5/2010 10:05:58 PM)

They have an HR department. They have guidelines in place. I am sure those guidelines are followed to avoid law suites.

They aren't stupid, they are aware of the climate they operate in.

It will be interesting to see how this develops. Will the suit fade away after she is the next Bachelorette?

VAcontroldom -> RE: Fired for being to sexy? (6/5/2010 10:10:15 PM)

She was an investment advisor, I believe, in the branches
She produced or she didn't
No one is firing high volume producers for any reason
She may be correct that she was told she couldn't dress in as provocative a way as some tellers.  I think most customers probably hold a different standard for what they are looking from in a person who will manage their money versus executing a transaction and image is a part of the investment advisor gig
Seems like a search for a settlement and some paid photos but we will see

I saw this producer years ago making films about men harassing women on the street in NYC.

I love how she uses the camera to make men as uncomfortable as they make woman.

There is no law suit. Her lawyer filed before he found out the matter has to be dealt with by arbitration per the employment contract.

I didnt read the thing but the pics Level put up I think she is really pretty and hot. Above average fo sho.

Some girls have bigger nipples than others too, let us not forget. Maybe cuz her breasts are giant she doesnt really need a padded bra. Nipples, come on kids, no biggie. I mean I wouldnt go to work sporting nipples showing but that is me. Then again I am small breasted and need the nice puffy bra to make me look professional hahahahaha.

MissSepphora1 -> RE: Fired for being to sexy? (6/6/2010 12:27:27 AM)

the really funny part of the whole thing...
she brings out pictures of herself at her desk in several different outfits...
what is the deal with posing at her desk like a model?
and who was taking those pictures?
perhaps she was using her sexiness and her position to her advantage and someone found out and didn't like it.
who pulls pics out like that taken at their office? unless its staged.

Yes, law suites should be prevented at all costs. One office and a cubicle should be all that are allowed! [:D]

LafayetteLady -> RE: Fired for being to sexy? (6/6/2010 1:12:22 AM)

First off, since her lawyer filed suit, the news channel DID verify their story. Suit is filed, claim is made, they contact the Plaintiff to verify that suit was filed. Pretty simple journalism 101.

As for the nipple showing in the interview, since she is claiming that she DIDN'T dress "too sexy" for work, it would be in her best interest to dress appropriately for the interview. The banking industry is among the most conservative types of employers out there. Doesn't matter how big your breasts are, if your bras are showing nipples, get a different bra.

One thing that is interesting is that while she is claiming others in the office dressed much more provacative than she did, and since this problem occurred over a period of time, it would have also been excellent proof for her case to have some pictures of those other female employees. Their faces could easily have been blacked out to protect their identity. Not even that but since she has been there for some time, there are very likely group photos to show. After all, at the arbitration hearing, some kind of proof will have to be shown and witnesses likely called.

I'm in no way saying that nothing happened. Various prejudices exist in the workforce everywhere. We have ageism, weightism, sexism. Interestingly enough, there has been a whole lot of news reports lately about how "good looking" people are being hired and promoted at a significantly higher rate than the "average looking" people.

This is an international company that will have been protecting itself from such types of problems with diversity training, sexual harrassment training, etc. I've worked for some of these large international companies and they are extremely conservative. Even a slightly off color joke, like why did the blonde cross the road (no I don't know, just made it up), can get someone written up.

Given all of that, I find it very difficult to believe that this woman was fired purely for the way she dressed. I believe that when she was promoted, her job performance dropped. She is a single mom, and someone mentioned to her how she could jump on the litigation gravy train. She already has another job, so what she can win in a lawsuit is limited. If she was paid in commission, then less so unless she can prove by a preponderance of the evidence that she was bringing in the business to earn the money.

Meanwhile, she got her pretty face all over the news and like blushes, I'm sure she has gotten a call from Hef already. Sadly, people will do what it takes to get "famous." Think Omarosa, the balloon boy's family and any other number of reality show "stars."

Perhaps. But ever notice that whenever a woman claims sexual harassment, the first thing that is going to be dragged out is how she looks, what she's wearing, anything in her past, to the point that it becomes a non-issue if she was or not. It turns into a media sex scandal circus.

To be fair, she's the one who "dragged it out" - she's the one who says this is about how she looks and what she's wearing.
