LadyCimarron -> CONSPIRACY THEORIES YOU BELIEVE IN. (6/6/2010 12:22:17 PM)

This is not for debate this is just for fun and to state what CT's you believe in compared to others.
Do you have any conspiracy theories that you either believe in a little or think may have some validity?

Here are mine:
1. The govt is hiding the existence of UFO's
2. The CIA was involved in a plot to assassinate high political figures in the 60's due to civil unrest
3. The first manned lunar landing and man's walk on the moon did not happen July of 1969.

I know I'm crazy, but I can't be the only one. Can some of you share what crazy conspiracy theory you at least partially believe or think has validity?  Remember this thread is to SHARE those theories, those who wish to debate them can start their own thread.

Zeitgeist: The Movie's second and third parts were persuasive for me. I wouldn't be shocked if I somehow learnt (like if life-after-death existed and we got omniscient there) what was told in the first part or OP's beliefs were true.

The human mind is a wonderful thing.. I dont believe everything I read as fact, including conspiracies, but ultimately they rarely become more than theory, but I like to try and keep an open mind and see where they come from, based in truth fear or the "unknown" or all 3...I couldn't get embroiled in them tho,
Eg...I do believe that Princess Diana was offed... I dont have proof or anything near to it... just a feeling, I dont care enough to be interested in finding out but if someone mentions their pet theory in conversation....it passes time... other than that, I have neither the expertise to solve such things nor the drive:)

So what conspiracy theories do you believe in Popeye?

tazzygirl -> RE: CONSPIRACY THEORIES YOU BELIEVE IN. (6/6/2010 2:31:19 PM)

I believe Marilyn Monroe was "taken care of". As was JFK, MLK and Lady Di.

I believe there is a cure for aids. Its just not profitable to have it known. They make more money off the disease. Same with cancer, diabetes and obesity. )for proof, look at Lorenzo's oil)

I believe one of the car industries, or the government themselves, are keeping under wraps the engines able to get over 200 miles to a gallon.

Yeah, i have my own conspiracy theories... lol

LadyCimarron -> RE: CONSPIRACY THEORIES YOU BELIEVE IN. (6/6/2010 3:26:24 PM)

I think I'm going to add you conspiracies to my list. Those are good food for thought.

blackpearl81 -> RE: CONSPIRACY THEORIES YOU BELIEVE IN. (6/6/2010 4:28:31 PM)

One conspiracy theory I believe in, was that the US government set John Delorean up with a bogus coke deal.

For those that aren't familar, John Delorean designed the DMC-12 (The car featured in Back to the Future). This car was considered revolutionary for it's time, due to its stainless steel body. Stainless steel doesn't rust, and (aside for mechanical failure) would never have to be replaced. So, the US Gov't set him up and put him out of business.

I also think that JFK was a mafia hit & that Marilyn Monroe was another "loose end" associated with it, or possibly a "revenge" killing. I remember reading somewhere that they both had ties to the mob - him for his election, and she was married into or dating someone in the mafia. (I can't recall)

The "rat pack" conspiracy theory?

I'm sorta familar with that - Martin & Sinatra had ties to the mob?

TheHeretic -> RE: CONSPIRACY THEORIES YOU BELIEVE IN. (6/6/2010 4:44:03 PM)

I don't so much "believe" in conspiracy theories, as I like to have a bit of speculative fun with them. It often comes down to the conspiracy theory being more plausible than believing our elected officials and their appointees are actually that stupid.

For instance, was the Great Society and welfare system that grew from it really a directed effort to create a permanent, dependent, underclass of poverty and destroy the traditional family unit among the poor? Was the war on drugs a sham all along in order to undermine the pesky provisions of the Bill of Rights?

See, the way I hear it is that everyone someone patents an engine that gets high gas mileage it's the oil companies that buy it up.  I have to say that sounds more plausible to me than that the car industry would.  The car company to make a car that gets 100 mpg will grab a HUGE percentage of the market share.

tazzygirl -> RE: CONSPIRACY THEORIES YOU BELIEVE IN. (6/6/2010 5:18:37 PM)

You're right. Someone is buying them up. Not too long ago i saw a story about a man who finished his fathers (could have been grandfathers) design for an engine and got it working. The reported gas mileage was over 100 mpg. But, oddly enough, he was offered major money, as the story stated, and never heard about again.

Well, like any good detective, I "always follow the money." RFK and two guys show up in Calif and Marylyn Monroe is dead two days later. No conspiracy there, she got wacked for threatening to expose her affair with JFK.
UFO's are bullshit. If they were that sophisticated that they could manipulate "time" for space travel then they could surely make themselves invisable when they got here to earth!
Ever have that feeling that "someone" was "with" you when you were all alone?[:D]
