ORIGINAL: MistressWriter If you're chatting with someone online, that you just met, what would you prefer they call you? From my experience, a lot of subs will start calling you Ma'am right off the bat, using it throughout the emails they send. Would you stick with that term, or would you prefer they call you something else, such as Mistress, your profile name, or even your real first name? Personally, i tend to use the screen name. However, if i am asked a question or told to do something, i usually reply with a "Yes, Ma'am". But i view that as a matter of respect, not ownership or relationship. Personally, i think that "Ma'am" is a rather neutral show of respect. As someone else mentioned, we Southern gentlemen tend to use it liberally in vanilla situations as well. But if someone dislikes the term, then i am always happy to call them by their preferred moniker.
