i have been known to tell my Sir that he was "whiffy".  Typically, he would laugh and go take a shower.   As far as clothes, i was in charge of clothing, so bought him new ones for Christmas and kept forgetting to wash the ones i didn't like.  I have such a bad memory!! [8|]

You can tell someone anything as long as you do it with a bit of humour and lightness. My Sir knows i love him and am not telling him things to be mean - and mostly i got away with it. [:D]

In my past relationship he asked me what I thought of his clothing, smell, etc. I mean, if you were eating out in public and your partner had food on their face, wouldn't you tell em?

I think it is a service to tell your partner that they look like or smell like shit... if not you, who will do it?

Carol would say all of those things... more politely, sure, but she has her opinions about things and she offers them up.

Assuming he develops it, I'd suggest he go see the doctor or dentist because this could be a sign of  a problem. Sinus infections can cause it. But if you aren't able to talk to him then you shouldn't be with him.

I expect my girl to look out for my best interest. If that means pointing out that I have spinach stuck in my teeth, then it's a no-brainer. She's a servant, act that way.Just lean up against me, say, "Your Lordship." and hand me the dental floss. Now, on the other hand, should she not, and I were to walk around all night with green teeth only to find out later that she knew all along and chose to let me embarass myself, well lets say that at a minimum, her derriere would suffer greatly for such an error.

While my Master is meticulous in taking care of me, he also likes to know that I am aware of his well-being, even if it's just a hygiene issue, and expects me to be open and honest.  I say things with as much respect as I can, and he knows by the tone of my voice if I am being purposely disrespectful.  If I don't like the shirt he is wearing, I'll tell him it doesn't look good in my opinion.  From then, it's his choice whether or not my opinion will lead him to wear a different shirt.

Depends on the relationship, and how much you're allowed to say, and how you're allowed to say it.

I'm not a slave, but if I was, I'd never pick someone who was so uptight  who didn't allow me to say things like no offense but you need to brush your teeth.

If you want to hint and not come right out, offer a piece of gum, say I was just going to have a stick you want one?

It's not really a slaves  place to comment about his looks in my opinion, the slave chose him looks and all knowing he wore clothing you thought was awful, if she knew him very well, and she just needs to suck it up in my opinion.

Same as commenting on how much he eats.

If your Master finds saying any of that stuff disrespectful, you don't say it.

Yup, yup. Daddy used to just keep quiet if he thought I stunk  or was sweaty or offensive, he didn't want to hurt my feelings, and I was like no, if you're kind about how you say it, I want you to let me know. I would rather him kindly speak up than sit there quietly thinking you stink I wish you'd............

Personally, I would be very disappointed if a sub didn't feel able to provide feedback....

Of course, the key lies in how it's delivered -

"When you wear hair gel, you look like a white trash version Elvis." would earn a spanking - probably playful, possibly not ;-) Whereas, "Would you like to try less gel in your hair, as it may look better" would be fine.

If you said "Please, for the love of all that is holy, do not wear that shirt in public." - I may well simply be grateful, I've made some shocking fashion errors in my time.

The last one - well that's just lovely.


But it's going to depend on the Dom, and the relationship - I prefer a relationship that can have it's playful, piss-taking moments, but some Doms might view any of this notional feedback as a terrible impeachment of their domliness ;-)

It is not disrespectful to tell someone that teeth need brushed.  In fact, it part of your service to make sure your Dom is presenting himself in public as he wishes to be.  When I tell my Dom that he needs to brush his teeth, wipe his mustache, or take a shower after he's been outside working, I am doing my part by letting him know that something about him is not right.  He always appreciates being told.  He'd hate to go to an important meeting with spinach stuck between his two front teeth or shaving cream behind his ears.

Of course you can encourage changes in his appearance.  He used to shave his head bald.  It made him look old.  Knowing that I love long hair he let his grow just a little bit, still short, but there was real hair there.  Six months later he wasn't sure he liked having hair so I encouraged him to shave it off again.  After seeing himself bald again, he realized he looked much nicer (as I knew he would) with hair and keeps his neatly trimmed now.  We often have differences in his clothing selection, especially color choices.  As the years go by he's experimented with colors he would have never chosen before.  When a new shirt looks nice on him I let him know he's hot to trot.

My grandfather gave me great advice one Thanksgiving when I was 13 on how to discreetly inform someone that their breath was unpleasant.

He said tell them:  "You're breath smells like tobacco"

When they reply:  "But, I don't smoke"

Tell them:  "You're breath smells like tobacco my balls."

My Aunt Mary then punched him....

Treat the situation as if he just walked out of a public bathroom with toilet paper stuck to his shoe. Ask yourself if it is your responsibility as his slave to bring it to his attention (aka remove it with your teeth)? I would be willing to bet the answer is yes. So you can approach this topic in the same manner - you are simply doing your job to make sure he is always at his best. Something along the lines of "Master, I feel it is necessary to point out to you that your breath may not be pleasing to others. I would not like to see it leave a negative impression on others."
