Status: offline 		Have met some really nice subs and Dom's and Masters online.

I typically believe, if they boast alot in their profile or if the first thing out of their mouth in chat, is something sexual, it's not real, they are just here for the fun of it.

Is there some other things I should be considering to weed out fakes?

I do agree with the others. 

Take your time.  Get to know people.  Meet as soon as feasible.  Once you have met then you meet regularly.  You talk.  You go to the mall.  You spend evenings watching movies with your friends and the other person's friends.  You begin to find out what kind of person they are.  The longer you know them the more you will know about them.  Eventually you will discover if you wish to spend more time with them or whether they are not someone you wish to have as a friend.

This place is chock full o' fakes! And the sad part is, no one is even trying to do anything about it.
And since I've already been bitch-slapped once by a mod on this I will refrain from any attempt at proof.

My personal theory is that all the fakes/scammers/etc, along with all the un-purged/long-expired profiles, help to inflate ad revenue.

Of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong*

Feel free to use the autoreport system that was set up specifically to deal with this issue.  The autosystem works when people choose to use it; the sad part is, some people choose not to.

Status: offline 		I agree with you that there are many, many fakes (not just on CM) and i report them as said by the Moderater, what i'm afraid what happens though is that their profile may be deleted by the Moderators but then they just start a new profile.

I think it's easier to spot the fake sub/slaves than the Doms though.

I met my Master on CM, his profile didnt describe what his kinks and desires were, he just described himself, the type of person he was, his profile came across showing that he had a great sense of humour, that he was laid back, confident,......everything about his profile just spoke volumes to me and he DIDNT want to chat via internet, he wanted to talk on the phone. He called me  (first of many, many times) and we clicked from the start........ we are now engaged to be married.
It can be hard to spot the fakes/pretenders etc but the more Doms you chat to the more you learn, but remember their profiles are the start, the fakes put in what they think a subby should be and what they think a subby wants.

The real Doms introduce themselves politely, they don't push themselves on you, they are gentlemen.......they treat ALL with respect.

Status: offline 		You know, these posts arise all the time, and really, they boil down to one thing: exercise some common sense.

Yes, a person or two may scheme their way past your walls, but they themselves are probably more confused than they intend to be fake. Not an excuse for them, but it isn't like they all always mean to deceive you like the other wankers (I'm assuming you can weed out the obvious ones).

Collarme provides you an excellent forum and host for which you can advertise yourself as whatever you want. The moderation and administration gives you an incredible amount of freedom to post pictures, whatever words you want practically, and to look for whatever you want. It's as good of a place as there is for the lifestyle and even some on the fringe.

I'm sorry if there have been jerks, but there a lot of benefits, too. The site weeds out the scammers as well as it can while providing a liberal place for your profile. Good luck in the future with everything.

Are you aware that there are folks on these very boards that will NOT blow you immediately upon meeting?

Status: offline 		ive been here on and off for ages and i have to tell you ive never met a fake in real life - they all genuinely wanted to find something real, but what their real is might not be youres.

my advice is to stop worrying about it and set up some ground rules.  ones that have worked for me are:

a) i dont chat on IM i go straight to phone chat, you get a far better feel for a person that way.
b) i dont do phone sex until after ive met and theres a relationship possibility there
c) i dont play submission games cyberly at all - ever.  if they want my submission we have to meet first and go from there
d) if a guy is content with all of that and on the same page im pretty sure ive met someone who knows how it goes, understands how it all works and is genuine.

You aren't compatible with anyone who is frank about wanting to know if you are compatible sexually. Fine, but there are lots of people who will decide that anyone who isn't open about what they do and don't enjoy is someone they aren't compatible with.
