I've been known to cut loose at a drum/dance circle or at a festival and do what a friend of mine calls "groovy Martha Graham moves" or my own version of the waltz or tango....goodness but the tango is one very sexy dance.

I don't mind if my partner can dance or not so long as he doesn't mind giving it a try for me.

Dance IS soooo sexy, you're right, and not just tango.

I just saw this!  I LOVE to dance.  I've gotten so used to non-dancing partners, though, that it doesn't phase me anymore, I just dance by myself, I don't care.  I would like to learn swing dance.  But I love dancing and I like going to drum jams and I like to go see live blues and jazz for dancing.  I can dance to anything else, too, but don't care for country so much.

When I was younger, dancing was a passion to me.  Music would fill me with emotion and dance was my expression.  Particularly swing and big band.  I wanted to dance but had no training, even though I was told I had great potential.

*sighs*  I fear that twenty-two years of marriage to a man who wasn't interested in being my dance partner and no venue or opportunity to ever do so, has caused me to lose any ability and rhythm that I had.  I feel as if I now have two left feet and no soul for dance.

Firm and I have talked about learning together, though.  I'm free to sign us up for classes whenever I'd like, but I've not done so yet.  I think part of me is afraid of confirming my fears...

You can't lose natural ability.  Don't be scared, get out there and shake your groove thang!  I'm sure you'll find that you aren't as bad off as you thought you were.

my kitten doesnt like to dance, she thinks she wouldnt be good.. plus she is plus sized, so she doesnt think she would look good dancing.. hmm i dont care if she's plus sized i love it. she is soo beautiful.. here is another thing i dont understand my kitten never went to a prom.. she never finished her highschool, so she want a prom of sorts at home or whatever .. she wants to do the whole formal thing with it.. its pretty cool me dressed up in some tux and she in a beautiful dress that she likes, but she is iffy abou tthe dancing.. im still trying to get her to dance with me.. she said if it was for her prom she would dance, but we will see. if its just me and her and no one else then it should be alright and still fun and special for her.. so she can feel what its like and such. :P :P i might even take her out late for a dinner or breakfast after prom :P thats what i did at least when i had my real prom haha :P
cheers

anyhow what are your guys thoughts on this?

i love dancing
i started ballroom when i broke up from my ex because i needed something lovely to do, my brother was my partner and an extremely good leading man.

Then i met my Husband and moved to another country... He never liked dancing and after years and years of wishing He would change His mind i finally took myself off to a dance hall where they teach Ceroc... a salsa/jive mix... i love it; it is energetic, sexy and soooo much fun and i get to dance dirty(ish) with somany different guys, just brilliant.

NO NO NO!!!!
I can't dance. I hate to dance. It would be painful if I did.

Shorey doesn't dance at all either. We are a perfect match.
We both can't stand karaoke too and if we ever own a bar have already agreed to have "No Karaoke on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday Nights!"

I used to dance, but that was before I killed the knees...now, trying to dance would look like a wounded walrus flopping around on the beach, but when I was younger I learned ballroom dance to impress a girl...My Grandfather and gran taught Me...and yes, it did impress said girl...very much...girls like guys that can dance...who knew?

DS: I see more and more people dancing alone; not a thing wrong with it, but doing it with a partner just seems more fun (that goes for other things, too lol).

Treasure: DS is right, you haven't lost anything. You and Firm need to go for it, I promise, it will come to life for you

SirBatsu: do it! Give her the prom she never had, and yes, you gotta dance

amanda: glad you're getting to dirty dance, and I like the new avatar.

Aileen: LOL, wanna karaoke with me??

Loric, you're 100% right, if a guy can dance, he has an advantage over other guys.

I love to dance, always have. For 12 years or so I studied Ballet Jazz and never felt so free as I did while dancing.
