I LOVE to dance.  All kinds of dancing.  Hip-hop, ballroom, latin.....hell I can't pass up the hokey pokey at kiddie parties. The only time a partner not dancing would bother me would be if there was ballroom dancing involved. Of course I would not take a non dancing partner anywhere there was ballroom dancing going on.  Dancing makes me feel.....alive.

BTW- all of my favorite Wii games involve dancing too- (dance dance revolution- samba de amigo, you name it)

Prior to my belly dance, I did not dance, never danced under the guise of two left feet and other such excuses, but what I have found since learning, is the freedom others speak of and with that fun I never knew could be had. I also seem to use the dance for meditation, for I have at last learned to switch off the outside world and be alone in my thoughts whilst dancing. I have found I can do this by defocusing my eyes and just observe light tones and vague movement whilst doing my thing to the music I love, a situation where all one can hear is the music and feel the desire to move with it, a freedom I never before knew.

The other thing my dancing has done, is reduced the back pain I used to have due to a semi fused lower vertabrae following a particularly nasty back injury, I now have full spinal movement where I did not have previously, and it has cured the scoliosis I had due to various impact injuries in the past.

Aside from the skeletal improvements, I have discovered I am developing the dancers physique, slim but subtedly muscled, as opposed to the knotted weed look. My dancing has changed my diet and my outlook and I see many positivities to be gained by anyone by engaging in any kind of dance.

To dance, is to be free.

Hi Holly,

I've done country line dancing a few times. I think it's really hard to memorize the steps... and you stand out if you're doing the wrong thing. (Not that anyone in the saloon actually cares. )

I LOVE LOVE LOVE to dance. When I dance, I'm the most beautiful woman in the world! I have danced everywhere - a Patsy Cline song, I pulled over and danced next to a cornfield, under the moonlight in the Andes with a drumming band in a grove of trees, salsa in a little mercado in Argentina, and my favorite - one night in Philadelphia, I got an entire diner up and dancing - including the COOK!!!

Ohhhh it is wonderful! I used to have a dance partner - my darling gay boyfriend. We were partners for over ten years and we danced and danced at black tie affairs, at casinos in Atlantic City, on the boardwalk, in DC at a gay rights parade... Ohhh... *sigh*

I met some gals last weekend... we're going dancing on Saturday! I haven't been in over a year. I expect it is about to become another regular event in my life. Come on over, Levelicious, and dance with me. We'll cut a rug!

*smooch

I danced with a bolt of lightning once, in the middle of Slaughter Ave in Dallas, just before the rain came down.  It was electrifying!

I find line dancing terribly easy. Once you know the basic ten or so steps, they are just different combinations, almost always to a count of four ... right side, left side... maybe front and back, maybe turn around.... start all over.

Ohhhh DS - that sounds stunning!

Easy!

Hook your thumbs in your waistband while attempting to kick yourself in the crotch with your boot heel. Bellow "YEEHAW!" like it is a religious experience.

Use afore mentioned boot heel to stomp the foot of a passing waitress. Swipe booze off of tray before the clumsy bitch spills it.

Guzzle.

Burp.

Another "YEEEEHAW!" aaaaaaand...

Heel to crotch....

See? Easy!

I wanna put on....my my my my my boogie shoes....and boogie with you...

I love to dance.  Not great at it, but I love it.  Like Treasure, I was married for 20 years to someone who refused to dance, and I'm a lot clumsier at it now, but I can't help myself - I feel a beat and I start grooving.  With Mr. Man, I'm free to let my spirit soar, and he has music on all the time, so I'm dancing while cooking, dancing while cleaning up, dancing while walking through the house....He'll get up and dance right along with me, it's awesome.
