Obviously you have never made a mistake.

If it had been a sleeping child you would want to send that person to jail?....What would that accomplish?

Unbelievable.

So you think these parents should get a pass? After all it was an accident.

Of course they should get a pass. Yes, they suffer the memory of their stupidity, but honestly, the dad wakes up at noon and doesn't check the baby? The mom wakes up at 2 in the afternoon? They also have a 2 year old? What was THAT child doing while they slept the day away? The decision to charge had not been made at the time of the article, but really it seems difficult to not find "ongoing neglect" with parents who are sleeping those kinds of hours with small children in the house.

I had a 4 yr old, the only job I could find that I knew I would have childcare was a cocktail server. I wanted my mom with him when I couldn't be, she worked days, so I had to work nights. I would get home anywhere from 3 to 5 AM 4 days a week. I would jump right in bed and try to get a couple of hours sleep before my son woke up at 7 am. I did this for 6 months before I could find another job with early evening hours. I would lock my son in my room with me, turn on the TV, and then catnap. I was a mess when I finally quit doing that job, emotionally wrought, and completely sleep deprived...

Not everyone is blessed with 9 to 5 work....

Like I said, judging without all the facts again....

Was that an attempt to be snarky or funny?
