I had meant to reply to this before.
For a long time my tendency was to date a bit older than me: 6 years or so but my longest relationship was with someone 10 yrs older.
Older just seemed a better fit; from a young age my step-mom said I had an old soul.
My music and movie interests certainly seemed to reflect that.
Classical, big band and movies before 1950.
But for me, it wasn't a number, it was always the person.
A bit over 10 years ago I had a love affair with someone who was twice my age.
He was mentor, lover, friend.
I was 37 and became the last great love of his life.
Now, my Master less than a year younger than me.
It is the person.
