ORIGINAL: ElizabethAnne Hello Folks, In having a conversation with a friend, we were talk about grammar, spelling, etc. In reading a post, what irks you the most, a spelling error done on purpose, ie, "prolly"; What word always sticks out for you? How does a person's use of grammar and spelling affect your view of the person, and the post? Or does it? I was told once long ago, all we have are words on the net, so it's important to attempt to try to get it right. I'm curious if I am the only person that gets irked when reading posts. Elizabeth This is a fast reply as I didn't read all four pages of replies. The highlighted part above immediately jumped out at me. Here is a topic started solely to talk about the irksome nature of careless writing and the first sentence of it has an incorrect word [:)]. Am I "irked" by that? No. I just think it shows that everyone, grammar nazi or not, occasionally makes silly mistakes and it's nothing to get ones blood pressue up about. Hell, I'll bet I've made some here just now myself[8D] luci
