yes I know exactly what the naacp is and yes when it was started it was a great thing. I agree but we are no longer in the 1900 and yes I agree blacks were discrimated against in great deals but were are now in the 21st century and things have changed. what if we had a miss white america or a wet or a naawp everyone would be calling us racist but when its all black its not you tell me whats the difference

I'm afraid that Willbeur is right again (twice in one day!!!!), the NAACP is indeed a racist organization...it restricts its membership to those of one specific race and its purpose is to advance the cause of the race. That being said I happen to think it is a needed institution...needed, but racist nonetheless.

You dumb ass white people know nothing about the NAACP. The NAACP does NOT now, nor has it EVER restricted it's membership to only African Americans. I am a past president of the NAACP (a local chapter, not national) and a life long member. We have always had white and jewish and hispanic members.
Please fact check before you spout incorrect bullshit.

Where it came from, reason for it....nonsense. Racist is racist. If you want to say history makes it ok to be racist, fine, but call it what it is.
When an incompetent buffoon like Obama is President BECAUSE he is black, it is far from obvious its needed.

I will bow to your superior knowledge...not being American my knowledge of the organization's membership rules is somewhat limited, however, the fact that the NAACP exists to advance the cause of black people specifically sort of does make it a racist organization all the same, regardless of its membership policies.

However I will again stress that I think it is a needed and beneficial (to the whole country) organization, but in the final analysis it IS a racist organization.
