ORIGINAL: pahunkboy Hello ladyTruck- Wow. that would be over regulation. I think they have to change the way obese is measured. Most people in my area would be obese. I am full weight- skinny compared to others here- but my BMI would likely be trouble for this regulation. Any time there are extra regulations- someone has to pay for all that. You're right hunky, someone has to pay for all that, and that would be those of us that have to get the testing done. In the trucking industry there is no such thing as over regulation according to them. Lets put it this way, today is my birthday (I felt it cheesy to make my own post saying it was my birthday LOL), yes I'm an old hag today of 42 LOL, I had to renew my license, if I want to keep my hazardous material endorsement I have to pay $100 (give or take a few bucks) to get my fingerprints done and a backround check done to prove that I'm not a terrorist, but you, knowing nothing about trucks (this is an assumption on my part) see's me park my truck with a trailer full of explosives, run in to use the bathroom, you get up in my truck after figuring out which of the 7 key cuts opens my door (yes, Kenworth only has 7 key cuts for all the trucks out there), takes off in my truck & blows up Pittsburgh or Philly. But gee hunky, you didn't pay the $100 to have your backround check done, & yet you drove my truck. So essentially I have to prove that I have no felonies, I haven't murdered anyone, so on & so forth just so I can make an extra .02 cents per mile. So yes hunky when it comes to regulations & safety, the trucking industry has too many regulations & have it to the point that we are now asking, when is too many safety regulations TOO SAFE? Yes, there can be overkill when it comes to safety
