So the attilla the hun bit was a wise crack? tough to tell sometimes. Atilla gets a bad rap in the west but he was hardly a barry goldwater Rudd was the Ozzy Prime Minister until just earlier this year. I am familiar with who he is but just not up on all of his policies I'd say I'm left of Nixon in most areas. Hawkishness as a right left issue seems odd to me, surely spreading the revolution of the left by violent means is not unheard of. And considerably less statist than any of the above. If we look closely at the "wars of liberation" american revolution,french revolution,russian revolution,castro,che mao ...etc. I think we would find a fundamental difference between the purposes for them and say the american civil war,wwI,wwII,korea,viet nam,the sand box. You asked for center between Marx and Nicholas II I would contend that JFK would be pretty close to center, can't think of a more centrist leader at the moment.
