We met online -- through roleplaying, actually. (I know, I know, I'm a geek. Sue me. ;p)
We started dating in 2002; we got engaged in January of '05. I accepted his collar a few months ago, and I've never felt so alive -- so complete.

It's a long-distance relationship, and it's hard, but my god.. he is so worth it.

We were introduced online through a mutual friend, we chatted on and off for about 3 months and then almost daily for about 4 months before we met in person.
we met a few times, and then she moved to my town, and we have been working it out ever since, figuring out exactly what we each want and how to give that to eachother...and it has been a wonderfull time, a bit of a roller coaster at times, but I wouldn't change it for the world. We are coming up on the 1st anniversary of our first face to face meeting.

We met on Alt, actually. The first time we met in person, I knew he was the man I was meant to grow old with. We'll be celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary on Halloween.

We've had a hard time connecting with people on the net. The relationships we form with people offline, whether it be friends or play partners or whatever, seem to be much more genuine and longlasting.

I met my husband Rob at a birthday dinner party when we were both working as Motorcyle Instructors. I remember looking at him and thinking, "I have to know Him' it took me a long time to ask for his phone number, *s* 15 years later I still have the peice of paper he wrote it on.

I bottom to Knight of Mists and we met at a play party last May. It was all that leather *s* The energy that was flowing between Himself and alandra when He was playing her captivated me. He has become not only a Top and guide to me but a dear friend as well to Rob and myself. Not to mention an exspecially motivating Muse.

Recently we have become friends with akisha whom we met online. (she and Rob hit it off very well since she's not a masochist like me *s* Someone who actually doesn't love pain (shaking head) is there such a thing

Some that i had the joy of meeting in person and others just via phone, online and real snail mail *s*
i hope to meet many more now that i have fewer restrictions in my life.
Guess i'll see what the future brings.

Actually met lotus here...emailed her about her choice of closing her profile with 'Namaste' and asked her which meaning she meant...it's been a very intense month-and-a-half...she is a beautiful girl.

I have four people who are very dear to me that I met on alt.com
I have several others in SC, GA, TX, and CA that I also met through alt at munches & get-togethers.
I have other friends who I met through munches here in Nashville.
And of course, many others I've come to know and think highly of at The Mark.
My current play partners ... one through alt.com and well, the other..... I met him at work <lol>

I met him playing Star Wars Galaxies

My character was a dancer in the cantina and what can I say? How can a dude resist a redhaired Zabrack in a black mini skirt and halter top with a big sword at her side? I sent him a tell which I never did because he had a wierd name, we started talking, he told me he liked submissive women..I told him well I know there's plenty of them out there good luck to you. His reply was I take it your not submissive? My reply was Im at the other end of that stick, Im a Dominant female if you ever want your ass spanked come see me. We've been together ever since. That was nearly two years ago.

Almost a decade ago I had been playing mcdom online, had attended a scene event or two, wasn't much impressed with anyone. I ran an ad titled "Ready to Obey? and some other BS and I got this email from a woman who sounded intelligent and a bit exotic. We did the phone thing a few times and then arranged to meet. We went to my place and the play and more important the connection was so intense I collared her on the spot (and yes, I know!) and we spent the next three years in the most intense relationship with the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. If only I knew now what I knew then....The relationship could have been vastly better but for reasons I don't wish to go into here, I also would have declined to enter it.

Another time I was invited to dinner with some scene friends. Turns out they had brought someone who they were mentoring and probably hoping to play with. Turns out she had contacted me previously and since I had seen in her profile or email, can't now remember which, that she was young and in college, I knew enough to avoid her (while imperfect I do know enough to stay away from temptation). The minute our eyes met, I knew we were done for, we played together off an on for a number of years. One of the few times I have had a long term casual play relationships that was what I would call healthy.

My last partner and I were together for over four years, we parted over the issue of children, she wanted them and I did not. We had seen each other a few times at various events and had talked a few times, I enjoyed talking to her because she was top and I felt I could relax and just be myself. Turns out she had thought me an arrogant ass (imagine that!) but we one time met for coffee and talked for hours and she decided that I was an arrogant ass but with some depth as well. Well, one day when we were both single, we decided to see a movie as friends and ended up at a dive bar I go to on occasion. As we were talking, she gave me that look, that coy, through the eyelashes thing that just makes my loins harden and my blood boil. I grabbed her and kissed her right there and we spent almost three wonderful years together, the first one wasn't so wonderful but I had grown immensely in my first major S&M relationship and more during my second major S&M relationship.

Yes I see the pattern and yes I am working on it...

Holly and I met in high school - although we didn't start dating until nearly 4 years later.

We met rob at a munch - actually at the munch very briefly, mostly through the chat list associated with the munch.

I met the corporal at work and brought him home with me.

i was in an online chat room with the window minimized. i had actually forgotten i was in it. Master was passing through and browsing profiles. He IM'd me to ask about something i had posted in my profile (i said i wasn't so sweet anymore). He asked why not? When i told him in a very broad reply, he argued it. i wasn't going to bother replying to his IM but i was in a weird mood so i did, flippantly and sarcastically. i had told him i was too bitter to be sweet. He said, "Get over it." i said "Yeah okay, let me just snap my fingers and....oh wow, don't i feel better!"

He saw right through me, and i felt it. He told me i would either run to him or away from him; time would tell. i ran to him, clung, and never let go. That was two years ago this coming June.

I met my first people who showed me BDSM at an Anime night i hosted at my college. they got invited by a friend and we started talking, and eventually over time became quite close. (one of them is on Collarme now :D)
I met my Kitten, while running a booth for the same Anime club that i met the others at, she was touring the various booths, and we started taking.....
Through LiveJournal, and it's various Communities i have met many people, but all online only, though i have found out about events in my area.
and now that i work in an Adult Film and Novelty store, i get to meet all sorts of people :)

I met my Dom at alt in the newbie room, He was there giving help to those that were searching for information, and i was the total newbie. We left the chat room and went to im on a dare, best bet i have ever lost. W/we began as friends as He was what i was not looking for, long distance and different countries.
Well, the heart and soul has a mind of its own and i could not imagine my life without Him. It took 6 months before O/our first real time meet, which was amazing. After one year i moved to be with Him, and soon to be married.
W/we have met some good friends from collar me and alt and munches, some we have gotten to know from dungeons. Some contacts have even come from yahoo chat rooms.
Every venue has its diamonds that shine through as real and genuine, just as each has its players and fakes, and all show their true selves in time.

I've had a few different experiences personally.
I met one person online. He lives about 4 miles away from me. He saw my ad, messaged me, I messaged back, and when we realized how close we lived to one another, we went ahead and traded phone numbers and met within a few days at our local restaurant.
I met another person through a friend of a friend.
I met one at my local university.
I've met a few at play parties.
And probably a hundred or so through munches.

For me personally, I've noticed that relationships tend to work better (for me), if a mutual friend introduces me to someone (whether that's at a munch or wherever). It's kind of like your friends know the "real you" and they know the "real" other person, and in their head they're thinking "Hey, those people might just click!"
I haven't had much luck with this online thing. It's done nothing for getting my feet rubbed or my hair brushed. Both of which I can usually find at least someone at a munch to do.

And y'all?

Sir and i met through a mutual friend that i was seeing at the time (bounce back after death of my first husband)....Sir and i talked for several months on the phone....
I went to Chattanooga for a week to visit said mutual friend and he arranged for Sir and i to meet........well Sir saw me first as i was blindfolded and couldn't see him......Needless to say the night was memorable for both of us.........three months later Sir moved from TN to PA, and that was 9 years ago..........we have been together ever since..........to this day, i thank the mutual friend, even if he did try to split us up, for if it wasn't for him, I would never have found the most wonderful man in the entire world...

Master and i met in a Yahoo chatroom....He hated me .....But thankfully He gave me another chance .. We talked for a few months, He saved my life when i got ill ( i was living in Utah , He in PA) making sure i was taken to the hospital and buying my meds...On Feb 14th 2003 i packed my munchkins into my van and drove 2000 miles in 2 and 1/2 days to be with Him .. Now we are married and have a wonderful blended family.....
