laurell3 -> RE: Aspects/things i find annoying about this board (8/4/2010 7:44:14 AM)

Obviously your only purpose here is to be an annoyance, criticise and condemn people sm22. You're not the first one to have this sole purpose on the boards, I'm sure you won't be the last. Because your contributions are only negative and juvenile, you won't find much support and will continue to be annoyed at the mockery you receive. It's too bad you set yourself up for such a negative experience isn't it? There's quite a bit you could learn here. There are quite a few awesome people you could establish friendships with.

Everyone has their own unique colloquialisms when speaking/typing. While we may find some of them annoying or amusing, it's generally not polite or mature to make an issue out of it. The s-type and d-type thing is merely the way that people attempt to be politically correct and include everyone in comments. The purpose isn't to abbreviate at all. I agree, attempting to please everyone can have some silly results at times. Apparently, given the rest of your ridiculously self-centered complaints, pleasing you is impossible and since you've chosen CM to be the venue for your self-serving pity party, I'm not really sure why anyone would actually care about your concerns.

ronne,

I'm thinkin she wants to see you bottom :-)

LadyPact -> RE: Aspects/things i find annoying about this board (8/4/2010 8:55:05 AM)

1) The phrase, "side of the kneel". i seriously cringe every time i come across it.
Then I guess you'd be cringing if you bothered to read certain non fiction books or listen to some of the very prominent speakers at certain events.  The phrase isn't new.  It's been in print for over twenty-five years.

2) "s-type" and "D-type": this is so not clever. you are not abbreviating sub or dom, you are extending them. idiocy.
Your estimation on how clever it is really has little to do with the subject.  It's certainly better than having to write Top/Dominant/Master/Mistress/Owner/Keeper and bottom/submissive/slave/property/servant.  I'm not going through all of that work multiple times in the same comment.

3) along those lines, people who capitalize things for the "D-type" (i.e. it is My birthday... or even worse... it is O/our plan): it is hard for Me to take these people seriously.
Considering that I'm here for My own benefit and really don't care if you take Me seriously, this really doesn't matter to Me.  I'll continue to write in the way that allows Me the greatest amount of self expression.  Good thing you don't have any control over Me because it's not going to change.

4) moderation: not the actual moderators, but the system in general. the whole approval requirement is unique to this board in my experience, and i think it is fairly obvious why other boards dont go this route.
The only other board that I am on is Fet.  I don't know if they have any approval requirement, but they absolutely do pull posts and threads on that site, too.

5) moderation: the actual moderators. ugh. ugh. ugh. ive been on all kinds of boards. the best ones have minimal moderation. people say "i thank the moderators for volunteering their time"... the irony is the board would be better without their thumbprint on it.
I believe you have shown in great examples exactly why moderation is needed in the first place.  If people could show the level of maturity and decorum to refrain from things such as insulting the lifestyle choices/kinks of others, not stoop to slandering their activities, and calling people names, there wouldn't be any reason to put people on moderation to begin with.  They actually do even outline these boundaries in TOS, so in effect, they have already told the membership how to conduct themselves.  Sadly, some people think they don't have to follow that and moderation is the result.

6) the fact you can't post a poll on any of the boards without it being moved.
This one really doesn't bother Me.  They have a section for it.

7) that anyone can reply to a thread targeted to a specific orientation in the "ask a master/mistress/submissive" forums.
Has it occurred to you that there may be instances where someone from another category has the ability to answer the question with better detail than the group that was addressed?

Let Me illustrate this by using the example of two different threads.  The first one is here.  http://www.collarchat.com/m_3310110/tm.htm from the Master section.  There's not a single male Dominant on that thread who could give that person information about munch groups in the Atlanta area that they have personally attended.  Guess who could?  Now, which is the better option?  Allowing males only to answer or for the poster to get the most information possible?  (Yeah.  I put him in touch with the guy who runs the munch closest to him.)

Here's the other thread.  http://www.collarchat.com/m_3322079/tm.htm  I specifically stayed off of that thread.  Since there were sooooo many complaints about women answering there, I wanted to sit back and see just who would step up and answer a technical question on play.  To date, nobody has explained how to tie a simple rope harness.  Can I do it?  You bet, but since I'm just a woman, who wants that kind of instruction.

8) the comedians: there is a certain contingent that tries to turn every thread into amateur comedy showcase. (see the korean women thread on the ask a master forum)
I haven't read that thread simply because the topic doesn't interest Me.  Being straight, I don't have an opinion of women of any particular nationality.  It reminds Me too much of the 'how many people like this kind of play so there's wank material' kind of threads.  Not My style.

AQuietSimpleMan -> RE: Aspects/things i find annoying about this board (8/4/2010 8:56:01 AM)

See and I always thought D-Type and s-type helped to include ALL varitions of each side of the Kneel.

s-types come in MANY variations from:

subs
slaves
little girls
piggies
puppies
ponies
pets
sluts
bottoms

D-Types come in many variations also.

Doms
Masters
Daddies
Keepers
Leaders
Owners
Tops

As for the Capping of the Dominant ideal. well I agree that it is poor Grammar, but it started LONG LONG LONG ago and has become an Online regularity. It may be silly, but more people do it than don't, I'm sure those who do are equally irritated when people don't do it. It does serve a purpose believe it or not. It hapens to help create context in a language that does not have Gender as part of the written word. It helps to offer contact on who is saying what and what exactly they are refering to. In most cases it isn't necessary as it is usually pretty clear but there are times it helps me to understand that someone is refering to the Dominants property as opposed to the submissives.

And as I am always fond of saying....

If you don't like it here, ask for a refund and go frind somewhere else to play.

I love how right out of moderation this is what you choose to post..... I guess all that stuff you said before trying not to be moderated was bullshit.

Whatever.

I make my meatloaf with some spices, Worcestershire, and Steak sauce with Italian seasoned bread crumbs...and egg. Very meaty and pretty tasty. However, the only way to go is super low fat ground meat or ground turkey breast without the skin. Otherwise it's too fatty, falls apart, and the flavor sucks.

boi

that's how i make it.. half turkey and half extra lean beef, with those same spices. I add lots of chopped vidalias though.. it's good in sammiches too! [:D]

He's still on moderation according to the other "awaiting approvals" he has showing.

I did notice that "humiliation" was at the top of his interest list.

i think you are confusing 'humiliation' with 'frustration'. there is nothing humiliating about being smarter than 95% of you people; it is merely a burden that i must carry.

So you want 'minimal moderation' but you ALSO want to restrict

- who responds to a given thread?
- the level of humor used by some members?
- the actual letters people use to abbreviate terms of description?

I believe the word irony appeared in your post.

I thought the word "hypocrisy" was pretty applicable too

Easy, use da ikkle hide button at the bottom left of every post

You don't complain about the moderators but in #5 you do? OOOO shame on you

5) moderation: the actual moderators. ugh. ugh. ugh. ive been on all kinds of boards. the best ones have minimal moderation. people say "i thank the moderators for volunteering their time"... the irony is the board would be better without their thumbprint on it.
Ahhh but without their thumbprint, you'da still been at it for however long you were moderated, and for that period of time we didn't have to put up with you asshat-ery

6) the fact you can't post a poll on any of the boards without it being moved.
The reason why there's a forum called polls and other random stupidity, so that POLLS can be POSTED

7) that anyone can reply to a thread targeted to a specific orientation in the "ask a master/mistress/submissive" forums.

Now wasn't that simple??? And having seen the other thread you started about whether or not anyone missed you, you post this? How do you even think the poor mods don't follow everything you say? I feel sorry for them, they have enough to deal with and you just add to it everytime you post. Again, shaaaaaaaaaaaame on you. Do some growing up, and if you don't like how things are done here, then don't let the door hit you on the ass as you ask for your refund. I'm sure it'll be in the mail today.

I apologize in advance to the other posters for having repeated my answer to #1 #2 #3 #7 #8, but i figured that was the only way to even try to get thru to him. I know, I know, head meet brick wall, but a pooh bear just has to try. [:D]

Toppingfrmbottom -> RE: Aspects/things i find annoying about this board (8/4/2010 11:37:24 AM)

If you're moderated, you're moderated through out the whole discussion forum. And we all know that moderation doesn't happen unless you've done something wrong or have completely ignored warnings from the mods about behaviors that should of stopped when warned.

So nobody has any sympathy for those who get moderated, they brought it upon themselves.

And secondly, you can post poles on any of the topic forums,  PROVIDED they're to do with that subject. For example, don't post stuff like, who likes women in high heels, in the Master's forum, and it won't be moved. Apropriate topics in apropritae venues. It's very very simple a concept to grasp.

If you were trying to be serious, it was hilarious.

I had my level of humor restricted at one law office and I quit. I will not have my funny stifled.

If we're talking about words, etc. that we take personal issue with... let me add mine.

I hate the following words, or shortened versions of actual words:

prolly
hella
cuppa
vacay
kk

They make my skin crawl because of how incredibly stupid they sound, much less, written out.

Oh and what the hell is it with "kk?" The response is "ok." Where did the "o" go and where in hell did the other "k" come from??? Annoying as hell these are... makes me feel like I'm talking to a 13 year old in freaking text speak. *omg, ru ok? gtg, bi* [8|]

I don't know about in America, but cuppa is pretty standard English English slang for a cup of tea-people of my grandparents' generation still say it (although not my grandparents themselves because they were foreigners with a hilariously bad grasp of idiom...)
