the beer thing was just a joke because i know jeffffffffffffff loves his beer. i'm actually not a beer person in any way, shape, or form. if that's somebody's thing, i don't knock them for it, i personally can't stand it. the only exceptions are if i am drinking korean beer with korean bbq and my boyfriend makes a really good beer ice cream, it has that irish beer that starts with a G, really dark and tastes a bit burned(can't spell it for the life of me) with toasted candied pecans and caramel. other than that- i don't touch the stuff.

I'm only a beer person if there are quarters and shot glasses involved, generally speaking..

*grins* Not me, jager hurts my brain too much. Worst beer does is make me sleepy. Now, if we wanted to talk about a nice single-malt Scotch.. which truth be known is my alcoholic substance of preference..

I refer you to my previous post and urge you to seek out some GOOD  beer and try it.  I can only assume you had a very nasty childhood experience, such as myself.

when i was a kid, i swear that had to be almost half of the fluid in my body at any given time. my father loves his single malt scotch and had a decanter of it in the study when i lived in england. he said i couldnt have any of it naturally, so when i figured out how to open it, i fell in love with it. mind you- i was like 5 or so. my father never filled himself, the neighbor did...i think he had a job dealing with scotch or something, so my father never really noticed that i would have some of it. except when he purposely put cheap stuff in there and i threw a fit over it.

Ok The Glen Livet, Glenfiddich, Glenmorangie, Mc Callums, I have had all of these,  of them I always end up with Glen Livet as it was the first single malt I discovered back in the early 1980's

Your father sounds like a smart cookie; that would ROCK, to be a distributor or something. Mine drank Cutty Sark (BLEAH!!1! ).. which put me off of all Scotches for many years, until after I was grown and figured it out for mySELF..
12-yr-old Glenlivet is yummy..

Single Malt...MMMMMMMMMMMM

The Macallan 12 year old, 18 year old if you have money. Skip the 10 year old and anything that says " oak aged". you want the sherry cask stuff.

For a lighter whiskey, I like Glenmorangie. The 10 year old is quite acceptable.

If you want the harDcore peaty flavor, Laphroig 10 yr old.

For some reason I don't quite understand, Macallan's gives me a headache. MUCH prefer Glenlivet or McClellan's 12, which go down easy (yes. I really DID just want to use those three words in a sentence today; why do you ask..?), and do not hang me over later..

Are you only interested in Vodka?  Because Bacardi (rum) Torched Red is absolutely magnificent!  :D~  YUMS!

If you are only going to stick with Vodka, you can always buy it in bulk at Sam's Club/Costco/Smart & Final, places like that.  I love the Black Raspberry Belvedere!  Personally, I mix it with club soda or citrus flavored club soda.  I am not a tequila, gin, or whiskey fan so I don't really know much about that.  Jack's a good whiskey, I guess.

Have fun (responsibly)!  And happy 21st birthday!

I have a Glenfiddich 30 that I'm slowly drinking. I keep a bottle of 18 year old around for when it isn't a special occasion. I had the Macallan 18 at a tasting and didn't like it as much as the Glenfiddich.

That's the beauty of Single Malts. I don't care for Glenfiddich in either they 18 or the 30.

I don't like Laphroig, but I love Lagavulin and both are from Islay.

I rather enjoy Highland Park too.

Lately, everywhere I go I have been getting coconut rum with pineapple juice mixed with ice in a blender.

I also like good vodka with cranberry juice, ice cold champagne with Chambord in it and pinot grigio.

Oh, and margaritas.
