The world is our home. If we fuck up a country so bad that it is Third World we cant stand back and say, "You there, make your country better for your children" as though you have no responsibility for what is going on all over the world. People desperate to make their life better are in fact not doing wrong. They are doing what is best for them and that is what we all deserve. That is not harming everyone.
The laws need work/change. You cant slap some half ass generic law and expect everyone and every situation to fit under it. It is unreal, lazy and unloving. If we all started off on the same page with loving parents, a secure home, food to eat, education to be had etc etc you could rant about 'going home'. This is not the case and since the foundation of USA was based on doing wrong, that is, stealing lying, taking, doing major freaking harm then we need to sort out a level playing field. We need to make the third world go away and we all be one world, first world, same world. This planet is our home and because many have it so much better than the better part of the world needs to be looked at. We need to figure out how to balance this all out in a loving and fair way.
I wish I could understand what the hell you're talking about except complaining about something several hundred years old.
Assume Europeans never came to the Americas. What do you have? A big, beautiful national park type continent peopled with folks living in the stone age. The same goes for Africa.
I'm not saying it's right. I'm saying you can't change history and that history is what lets you be the apologist you are now. It also is what allows you to think that you can solve the problems of corrupt governments and dismal poverty in a loving way. People are not wrong in attempting to make their lives better. The folks highlighted in this discussion however, are going about it the wrong way. We need immigration reform. What you're not going to find a majority support for is simply opening the fucking door and providing kool-aid at the border.
The stupid thing about this debate is there's rarely any real debate about fixing the problem. The debate is mostly whining and sobbing, or insisting it can't be done, or screaming racism the moment anyone tries. I swear to god, these are the types of brain embolisms that must have existed in the last days of Rome.
