Hm. Next time though, I think I'll try, "Which one?" Or, "What girl? There are only Dom men here." This will be sure to confuse him.

I just start calling them little boy and mention the fact Ill mail him a used tampon to prove I'm No longer a girl

Also Iron Bear, Lass can be a term of endearment like sweetheart. where as girl just makes me think the guy is fetishising the age difference....which is creepy.... and makes me want to vomit a little in my mouth...

It is that kind of service industry job that propels that usage of Ma'am. Same with Sir.

I have been calling people Ma'am and Sir so long in the restaurant business it is automatic. It is the quick and easy polite public way to address someone you are serving.

It doesnt work well on more down to earth people. They hear it more personally and it sounds weird and wrong but it is not meant in that way. I have had people say to me, "Sir? Dont call me sir!" I know it creeps them out but I didnt mean it like that, I simply need something to call folks sometimes and Sir and Ma'am are the default setting. I dont know if I made this clear at all but I guess what I am saying is it is not personal. With a really young girl I can call her Miss but I am still calling the male kid Sir.

I believe I vomited a little in my mouth from just thinking of the types of email I ge- er, *used to* get. It's all pretty much died down now. [;)]

Also I agree that 'lass' is quite nice. A wee bit o' lass...teeheehee makes me giggle

Lass was such a common term in my parents home especially from my Father's side who were both Scots and Irish so it was often "A wee bonny lad" or "A wee bonny lass". At home, I still reply, without thinking, "I dinna ken" and referring to a child as a wee bain, potatoes at "Pratties" and a glass of Scotch as a "Wee dram".  I'll admit that when I've had a few "Wee drams" and am in my full dress kilt, the brogue of my forefathers tends to come out. No I do not own nor play the pipes. That ability still alludes me but I am good with a Claymore, Highland Dirk and Sghian Dubh....

to the OP: i'm glad you have realised that using "girl" is a pretty rude way of addressing somebody you don't know. but as many have said, its better than whore, bitch, slut...whatever. i personally would prefer "girl" over any of those, or my personal favourite, "n****r bitch". don't do any of those, you'll get along dandy here.

I just call myself Andrea.  Most people here refer to me as Miss.  Instead of calling someone girl, woman, bitch, cumslut, ect, it might be better not to use a name at all, unless you are refering to an individual.
