Addressing a lady as "sizzlechest" has worked for me.

Once.

It failed hundreds of times before and after that one occasion though.

Sizzlechest is so 1997.
Grins
I personally prefer the term "Hot tamale"
Edgy, multi-cultural and paints a vivid picture for her to envision

Well LP, my point here was that BDSM-land IS a different culture than vanilla-land. Different rules DO apply. Getting tangled up in them when you're new is perfectly understandable.

For my own self, I did not make this particular faux-pas when I was new, but I made plenty of other ones as I'm sure you remember *laughs*.

Had the OP read differently I would've responded differently. But it seemed to me to be a fairly straight-forward acknowledgement of a social faux-pas and apology.

True, which is what I said way back on post number six.  Not much discussion in that.  This way, we had at least some conversation on the matter.

My best to Carol.

I wouldn't suggest hot tamale to a stranger who is Hispanic, though. It could well appear racist.

Cool, ok - revert to "sizzlechest" for cute latinas then?

I love to be called girl.

Listen to this one here.....a grown woman who wants to be a girl.......have you ever heard anything like it in all your life.......she wants to reaquaint herself with that period of her life when she used to run round in catholic school with a pair of iron knickers on and the key tucked into one of her socks......someone comb her hair to shut her up.

Hey Crazy.... if you're documenting this up... like a flow chart or somesuch, could you send me a copy when it's done?

Don't you remember I gave you the key to my iron knickers? Please don't tell me you've gone and misplaced it.

Yeah, no worries, although when I send it to ya be sure to laminate it after you've printed it out, the plain paper version tends to get a bit soggy after it's had more than a couple of beers poured over it.

Crazy could call me what ever he liked so long as he had a double wrap of my hair around his fist. [:D][;)]

I've put it back in your sock 'girl'........you wouldn't have noticed as you were busy chasing the ducks in between using your crayons to draw mummy and daddy holding hands............how are your pig tails coming along?

BentUnit -> RE: Don't use girl has an opener (8/7/2010 1:26:48 AM)

I fear, Sir, I have eaten all all my crayons and all of my Perkin's Paste.

Sir, I fear I may have to pass a motion!

Strangely, I have rarely had adverse comments here or in life when I refer to a female as Lass and yet when I refer to a bloke as Lad or Laddy unless they are British or specifically a Scot I get all sorts of testosterone induced responses.

IB.....

A spot of further info for your use.....

Lad and Lass are Northern English.....the Scottish versions are laddie and lassie.

I'd say you've had a problem due to a slight misunderstanding......

Lad does not equate to boy and lass does not equate to girl....

Any man of any age is a lad.....any woman of any age is a lass......in Northern England....particularly North East England. Usual introduction among mates being: "alright lad?". The age distinction comes in as 'young lad'.....'older lad'.

A bit like in London.....'geezer' covers men of all ages.....so does lad in Northern England.

So I reckon calling someone 'girl' is not the same as calling someone 'lass'.

Mind you...nor is 'boy' in parts of England....where Londoners refer to older lads as 'old boy'......boy and girl are not terms used in Northern England for any man or woman of any age...even when some confused and deranged Italian-Yank is running round demanding to be called 'girl'

Happy to help....any feedback or questions are welcome as always!

Again? Go and sit in the corner with your face to the wall while I go to the shop and get you a bag of rusks.

<sigh>

Yes Sir!

Sir, might I inquire if you will be getting more Perkin's Paste?

Of course we are.....and then we'll glue a piece of sand paper to one of your nipples.

The most important issue occupying my mind is ensuring that you and I have a good old time :-)
