domi: I did not know CM before the P&R was separated out.  I tend to not go there for all the reasons you mention.  Of course, the crawl (of recent posts) at the top of forum pages occasionaly shows me something I feel needs to be answered.  Once again, off I go with pure heart and bright spirits, promising myself to be calm and rational.

I like the idea that the people commenting in the P&R forum have a place to do so, without disturbing the BDSM discussions happening elsewhere.

My opinion: Let it be as is..... elsewise <as I read it above>  the off-topic board gets clogged real fast.

On the other hand, I've often thought that P & R could be two boards......

What about mod-slapping the flamers?  Yep, more of that is needed.  Maybe you could volunteer..... (NOTE: no "LOL" appears here.)

This will see me stripped of all my civic rights and any assets I am due to inherit. The government and Big Pharma seem determined to silence vaccine critics by any means. Status: offline 		I understand what you are saying. Sometimes the poster ignores you when you call him on it. So you work around him, ignore him I guess, and interact with people who have something of substance to contribute.

Is it possible that the controversy arises from the nature of the topics? The topics on the other forums do not seem of a kind to provoke much controversy. What I have noticed in the Gen BDSM Forum is a lot more nurturing by female participants. However, a lot of testosterone spilling over in P&R.

I like the "Don't feed the trolls" emoticon.  Just today, I was thinking that if every poster that sees the lie, would just use that and only that.... silly, stupid threads might die.  Granted a lingering death, but a death non-the less.

I simply let 'em rant and rave on and on.  I would post rational info and was ignored...... No discussion or counter arguments.  Actually, I was immediatly attacked ad hominen. Always a good sign for the argument I had just presented.  Those few experiences were enough to make me leave, thinking, "I sure am glad this forum is labeled clearly.  I won't be back."

And now you want to take this last refuge of semi-serious discussion and purge it from the board, because this is the one remaining forum that isn't fun for you anymore?

Fuck that. Is there no limit to your narcissism or your egocentricity? You've already got a dozen other forums that you consider to be wide open for your clown show. If you don't like the way the discussions unfold here, go back to trolling the Gor forum and stay out of this one. You make some good contributions here, I agree almost completely with your sociopolitical perspective, and I enjoy reading a lot of your arguments in this forum, but if it doesn't meet your standards, hit the road and leave what's left of it for the people who obviously do find it worth their time.

Exactly. If you spend any time here, you learn pretty quickly that there are some posters not worth taking seriously. So, you just ignore the fuckers. Or in some cases, poke 'em with a stick every now and then because it's so much fun to hear them screech, but either way, you don't take them seriously. It's not that hard to mentally block out the morons.

Status: offline 		I think that this section is GRAND. There are all manner of asshats that NEVER bleed over into other zones anymore!! True, I miss some excellent posters, but I am willing to take that loss for peace elsewhere.

I think there should be NO moderation in this section. Let the blowhards blow! Let them get carpal tunnel at will! We can be grateful that we do not know them in real time. The ones that are left standing will be the emperors of shit!

I know there's been a lot of vitriol between us in the past, so I want to say that I don't intend any hostility or acrimony in my post to you. We worked through that in e-mail, and i meant what I said. There are a lot of things we'll never see eye-to-ey on, but as far as I'm concerned, the bad blood that was between us is history, and I don't feel any acrimony toward you at all. I've got nothing against you at all. I'm just calling it as I see it, and trying to be as objective as I can.

That is precisely the reason the P&R forum must remain. It's like quarantining a very nasty and highly communicable disease. We must keep all of those who rant on about politics (while oddly enough knowing very little about politics) in their place - much like the science behind a cesspool. The Off Topic Discussion forum is now a pleasant place to visit. It sucked until the P&R forum was created.

Might I make a suggestion? Simply do not visit this forum if it troubles you. I responded to this thread only because I saw the post fly by on the ticker but I realized what an intellectual wasteland P&R was months ago (along with the fact that certain mods have a slightly liberal bias) and I just don't visit any more. Problem solved. Perhaps you should try it.

What I have often wondered is why there is no Sports forum.

It has made me do research on something I wasn't familiar with and make my own decision, but I try to not post here much.  Unless it is about the death penalty, or someone claiming to be the know all and tell all authority on what is going on in Iraq.

99% of the time I am smiling when posting anywhere on this site.  If it ever starts being more than entertainment and really getting me pissed, I will know it is time to walk away.
