And Freddie Mac and Fannie May had another "bang-up" quarter.
And Howie Carr said, "Obama's going to have another bailout for the bailout." "He knows he can't get amnesty for illegal aliens so now he's going to *lard up* the Teachers and other Public Sector unions instead!"

I'm an Independant so that means I can look at all sides of an issue and make up my own mind. I don't have to "automatically" take a position based on "politics." That way I don't have to get angry or be bitter!
The "far right" and the "far left" should get together and "Party!" They're just like each other! Only the "far right" would get screwed because they'de have to *PAY* for everything being the "capitalist bastards" that they are while the "far left" have no money and live in "The Man Cave" at their parents house.

Does Howie Carr ever have anything positive to say about Obama?

mnottertail -> RE: This isn't a good sign. (8/10/2010 1:47:01 PM)

Well, does howie carr have anything intelligent to say at all? So far I have seen no evidence to support that.

Musicmystery -> RE: This isn't a good sign. (8/10/2010 1:48:22 PM)

I miss the days when news came from newscasters instead of talk show hosts.

So what does David Letterman think?

Jeffff -> RE: This isn't a good sign. (8/10/2010 1:50:03 PM)

Has Jon Stewart weighed in yet?

I don't make a move without Jon Stewart.

Well he's right!
Obama is all over the news talking about "Ed-u-CATION!"
I wonder, is it,..... "for the children?"
Am I close?
Come on Ron, why is just HAS to be,....."FOR THE CHILDREN", right?

"That way I don't have to get angry or be bitter!"

In the words of Larry the Cable Guy, "I don't care who you are that there's funny".

I don't think anyone had ever thought of old popeye as anything but bitter and angry.

popeye1250 -> RE: This isn't a good sign. (8/10/2010 2:06:34 PM)

Flcouple, no matter what you may think of me if you read that article this really is not a good sign for the economy or the stock market.

Hot off the Press

There it is, signed, sealed and delivered.

Obama; "Bribe Teachers' Union,.......Check!"

We used to have the best education system in the world, thats right, we were number 1.

We are now number 12  (and by god it shows out here) education won't do you a bit of good pops, never did, but we gotta have top list teachers and top list unis.

Spend on education for infrastructure.

That is all, and fuck howie carr and his asswipe.

DCWoody -> RE: This isn't a good sign. (8/10/2010 2:49:33 PM)

Well, they said on the news that "some" of that money will come out of the food stamp program, that feeds,.....children. But,.....it's "For The Children!"
I think we owe Jimmy Carter an apology.

Whiplashsmile4 -> RE: This isn't a good sign. (8/10/2010 3:33:33 PM)

Personally I don't have the problem with the Fed doing this... The Federal reserve banking system is funny business for those that understand it. It's sort of like playing with Monopoly money. The Fed actually charges the US government interest on every dollar made for the US.. so in a sense the Government is kinda of gettting a little something back for the Interest the Fed charges anyways. We got screwed years ago, when the dollar ceased to be back by Gold or Silver. Historically we got fucked a long time ago... So Yeah, the Fed doing this. Two Thumbs up. Then again, the Fed itself has a vested business interest at stake in doing so. This Ain't About Socialism as much as some people would Love to Believe. It's very and I mean very much the opposite. The powers that be, the ones really in control are just showing up a little love. Enjoy.

Whiplashsmile4 -> RE: This isn't a good sign. (8/10/2010 3:38:43 PM)

In regards to our Education system, it truely can be seen by the level of intelligence by people in big business, government systems and other places. Down to store cashiers that have a hard time doing basic math.

I have a theory that there is a virus on the loose, that effects the brain and is making people stupid. The "Stupid Virus" as I call it.

70 thousand private sector jobs were added to the economy........

That`s a good sign.

While this is in part a good sign. It's not nearly enough and also the type of jobs and the wages for those jobs don't exactly cut it.

While this is a good thing, the number of jobs ain't enough to offset the national unemployment rate. Think about this! The population of the United States and the unemployment rate being 9.x%. Seriously 70 thousand jobs is like giving a thristy man in the dessert a table spoon of water to drink.

Owner59 -> RE: This isn't a good sign. (8/10/2010 3:56:02 PM)

Still it`s good news and better than losing jobs.

The unemployment rate is still high because of government sector jobs being cut.

You mean those temporary census jobs that were used to prop up the prior months' employment figures, of course.

This is EXACTLY what I was thinking. Someone is actually criticizing spending more on teachers?

Sorry but large numbers of undereducated people working service industry jobs does not make for a good economy. For serious.
